Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description Maintenance MechanicBring your experience working in a warehouse as a Maintenance Mechanic for an outstanding facility in Chico, CA.Job Duties:Ensure plant operations comply with all Federal and State regulations while maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment.Follow GMP standards, maintain proper personal hygiene, and uphold sanitary workplace conditions to prevent product cross-contamination.Maintain preventive maintenance (PM) documentation in compliance with SQF standards and implement updated procedures as directed by management.Prioritize and manage work orders, production breakdown responses, line changeovers, and maintenance projects to support safety, productivity, and operational efficiency.Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and support production schedule requirements.Follow preventive maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability, maximize line efficiency, and reduce production interruptions.Coordinate requests for parts, tools, and equipment needed to maintain or improve production operations and workplace conditions.Ensure all plant equipment, including boilers and wastewater treatment systems, operates at optimal efficiency.Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities based on production demands and engineering project timelines.Complete and maintain accurate work orders and preventive maintenance records.Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify repair and maintenance needs proactively.Monitor boiler operations during assigned shifts, respond to operational issues or emergencies, and communicate updates to supervisors.Promote and maintain safe work practices by following risk assessment procedures, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout protocols, and equipment isolation procedures.Perform general maintenance duties and additional assigned tasks as needed to support plant operations.Requirements:Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently throughout the dayAble to bend, kneel, and stoop periodicallyAbility to effectively accomplish diverse skilled work in the repair and maintenance of the facility.Ability to carry out operations safely and efficiently; utilize diverse toolsExperience preferred in a food manufacturing facilityMust be able to read and write in EnglishPay: $24-$30/hr.
