IT Voice & Collaboration Engineer

Summary:The IT Voice and Collaboration Engineer (formerly Telecomm Engineer) is essential for the daily operation of the enterprise voice and video infrastructure. Responsibilities include creating, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting voice collaboration systems. The Voice and Collaboration Engineer works with third-party vendors, team members, and IT technicians to support the organization's IT infrastructure.Responsibilities:Install, configure, monitor, maintain, test, and troubleshoot Voice and Collaboration IT infrastructure.Provide support and technical expertise for data, voice, and video networks.Manage tasks and projects using ticketing systems daily.Collaborate with team members, customers, clients, and other relevant teams.Participate in projects and on-call rotation.Oversee daily operations of the organization's IT Voice, Collaboration, and Telecommunications infrastructure and hospitality-oriented communications systems.Install, configure, monitor, maintain, test, and troubleshoot IT Voice and Collaboration infrastructure solutions.Support and collaborate with Senior Voice Engineers, Network Engineers, Convention Network Engineers, and IT Operation Technicians.Provide reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager and assist with vendor quotes and procurement.Build, maintain, and audit IT voice and telecommunications-related documentation, including configuration, SOPs, service records, asset inventories, topologies, etc.Assist senior engineers with configuring and implementing secure transfers of enterprise data, voice, and video, supporting compliance with PCI, HIPAA, and GDPR policies and regulations.Work with third-party vendors and other teams to support the enterprise's IT infrastructure.Support, mentor, and provide cross-training to team members in the areas covered by the IT Infrastructure Department.Assist in the training of other Information Systems personnel to improve their technical skills.Stay updated on voice, collaboration, telecommunications, security best practices, and technologies to support the organization's IT infrastructure with the best solutions and protection.Perform other related duties as required.Experience/Qualifications:Minimum 3-4 years in voice engineer, communications engineer, or voice administrator positions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Creative problem-solving abilities.Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM), Unity, Cisco Emergency Responder (CER).Cisco Unified Contact Center (UCCX), WebEx Contact Center (WxCC).Collaboration Platforms (Cisco Jabber, Cisco WebEx, Microsoft Teams).Video Collaboration Solutions for Meeting Rooms (WebEx Video Bars, WebEx Boards).Call recording systems (Eleveo, Dubber) and voice system call accounting.SIP trunk, WebEx Calling, Voice Gateways (VGs, CUBE, AVGs).2RING Dashboard for Voice Contact Center.Emergency 911 Systems, Paging, and intercom Systems for Emergency notification.Voice and data monitoring Systems (e.g., SolarWinds).VMware infrastructure, Virtual Machines, and hypervisor ESXi.Ticketing systems and IT project management.Structured cable systems (fiber and copper), low-voltage systems, and telecommunications closet power requirements.Linux and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, including mobile operating systems (Android, Apple iOS).DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Network Policy (NPS) Services, RADIUS, TACACS, VOIP network protocols, and SSL Certificates.Additional experience in the IT hospitality industry and specific hardware used in the company's telecommunications system and Motorola Radios Systems (highly preferred).Education and Certification(s)/License(s):Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).Obtain Cisco Certified Specialist – Collaboration Core within 12 months of employment (required).Obtain Voice-Collaboration or Network Certification within 12 months of employment (required).Obtain CCNA within 12 months of employment (required).CCNP – Collaboration (a plus).Note: New hires or promoted Associates must obtain required certifications within a set time frame.
