This role works closely with the Engineering Manager and cross-functional teams to assist in delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The Junior Engineer will split time between PSW’s Chicago office and project sites, gaining hands‑on experience in both design and construction environments.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nAssist in the preparation and review of engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.\n\nSupport project coordination by tracking schedules, budgets, and deliverables.\n\nWork with the Engineer Manager to resolve technical and construction‑related issues.\n\nParticipate in on‑site activities, including inspections, progress tracking, and contractor coordination.\n\nAssist with procurement activities such as reviewing technical submittals and vendor documentation.\n\nMaintain project documentation, including reports, meeting notes, and change tracking.\n\nContribute to capturing lessons learned and standardizing best practices across projects.\n\nPrepare status updates, progress reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Materials, or related).\n\n0–2 years of engineering or project experience (internships/co‑ops acceptable).\n\nBasic knowledge of engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) and project coordination principles.\n\nStrong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.\n\nEffective communication and ability to work in a team environment.\n\nWillingness to travel and work on‑site as needed.\n\nLocation\nChicago, IL\n\nTravel\nTraveling up to 40%\n\nJob Requirements\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
