Recognize their efforts.\nUnderstand that all employees are people and all of us have challenges. Search for the reason behind the issue, actively listen and resolve to the benefit of all.\nResponsible for leading and supporting employee engagement initiatives.\nConduct focused walks semi-weekly through the plant to engage with the employees.\nUtilizing active listening skills, ask probing questions that encourage employee input on issues or opportunities related to safety, quality, performance, goals, scheduling, teamwork, etc.,\nNote opportunities for improvement and potential solutions based on employee input.\nDevelop strategies that all for employee led teams to implement or ‘try’\nProvide ongoing feedback to employee led teams and support efforts that lead to improved results, even during times of initial failure.\nCelebrate wins and recognize employees participating on successful teams.\nEducate plant personnel on safe and proper operation of machinery, ensuring all employees receive proper and timely training.\nDevelop problem solving and troubleshooting skills in maintenance personnel.\nMaintain accurate and sufficient parts inventory while meeting the established budget.\nOrder and maintain min/max inventory levels of repair and/or replacement parts.\nSchedule and coordinate appropriate downtime to effectively perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.\nEnsure equipment is clean and in ‘showroom condition’.\nPro-active in addressing machine inefficiencies during preventative maintenance.\nMaintain Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) system.\nMaintain equipment files, vendor records, quotes, manuals, repair records, etc.\nRecord maintenance and repair costs; control costs through use of appropriate repair and/or purchasing methods.\nResponsible for coordinating with the Quality Leader to ensure equipment is manufacturing products which meet quality specifications and food safety requirements.\nEnsure all non-conforming equipment which impacts safety, food safety, or product quality is identified and removed from service until repaired or replaced.\nEnsure that a sufficient maintenance budget is allocated to maintain a high standard of quality and food safety of the facility structure and all equipment.\nSchedule and coordinate all Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) events with maintenance and production personnel.\nProvide necessary training to all employees.\nEstablish and maintain TPM standards on all equipment.\nSchedule events to ensure equipment meets TPM standards.\nMaintain employee documentation and schedule labor to meet budget requirements.\nMaintain performance evaluations, attendance records and review time cards.\nDirect the work of employees to correct improper work habits and/or behavior; reward good job performance and take corrective action as required.\nCommunicate problems, progress reports and continuous improvement ideas to management staff, maintenance and production personnel.\nMay perform the duties of Production Supervisor as needed or required.\nResponsible for ensuring maintenance employees follow food safety and food defense programs.\nSupport the development and implementation of food safety and food defense programs, in compliance with Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) or British Retail Consortium (BRC) standards.\nFollow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), personnel practices, HACCP, and prerequisite food safety programs.\nEnsure work is performed in a manner which prevents foreign material contamination, including reconciliation of all tools and parts and proper securement of hardware.\nCommunicate quality, food safety, and food defense issues to appropriate personnel.\nMaintain maintenance shop, parts room, and equipment cleanliness by assigning housekeeping duties to maintenance personnel in accordance with the facility Master Cleaning and Sanitization Schedule.\nMaintain a clean, organized work area through effective housekeeping, sanitization, and waste management practices by following the master cleaning and sanitization schedule to support safety, and food safety compliance\nProactively resolve housekeeping and sanitization opportunities.\nCommittee Member of the following:\nManagement Staff\nTPM Committee\nSafety Committee\nProblem Solving Team\nKey Job Performance Measures\nEffective utilization of CMMS system\nMonitoring equipment downtime-scheduled versus unscheduled\nMaintaining maintenance expenses within assigned budget\nReconciliation of all generated PM’s in CMMS system\nExperience, Educational and Technical Qualifications\nOur Maintenance Manager must have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment and a 4 year technical degree and/or equivalent military experience.
