Vishay, Yankton, SD, is currently seeking a full-time Product/Process Engineer to perform engineering of specific products from design inception to finished product, including manufacturing process and controls under general direction of the Engineering Section Supervisor.\n\nJob Location:\n\nThis position is located on-site Yankton, SD. We are situated in Southeast South Dakota: on the banks of the Missouri River and minutes from Lewis and Clark Lake where you can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreational activities.\n\nWhat you will be doing:\n\nControls and has design, testing, and engineering production responsibility for one or several routine to moderately complex projects.\nFabricates or directs technicians in the fabrication of prototype models for test purposes. Redesigns any components as necessary following test procedures to meet performance specifications. Supplies the drafting department with final sketches to be incorporated into the final draft form. Maintains adequate documentation to provide product history and any other pertinent information necessary for the design and production of assigned products.\nRecommends improvements, modifications, and possible new design of production equipment to immediate supervisor. Performs design of simple to moderately complex test equipment jigs, fixtures, tools, etc. Handles line check-out of new equipment. Serves in a consulting capacity with regard to trouble shooting of prototype or production equipment. Performs cost savings activities.\nClosely examines production methods, materials, and facilities, constantly seeking out areas of improvement, and initiates any necessary action with vendors and internal Vishay departments to bring about identified product improvement.
