Commercial Plumbing/Mechanical Estimator

Commercial General and Mechanical Contractor is seeking qualified individual to join our growing team. ABC has been serving federal and local government in the area for over 30 years and has worked at almost every high visibility location, including the US Capitol, Fort Belvoir, the White House, Fort Meade, NSA, and Fort Detrick.
The Mechanical Estimator will be responsible for tracking estimates from inception to project completion. They will set up new bids, issue bids to subcontractors, track proposals from subcontractors, order material, bid all construction divisions and price change orders.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Locate bidding opportunities using online bidding platforms and responding to invitations to bid.
2. Perform Take-off of Mechanical piping and systems
2. Prepared detailed reports and bids.
3. Project Management
4. Review specification and drawings.
5. Attend site visits.
6. Receive and review proposals from subcontractors
7. Solicit Subcontractor Pricing
8. Price change orders.
9. Bid General Conditions
Experience and skills required:
1. 5 years of experience as an commercial mechanical estimator, or combination of field or trade experience in plumbing or HVAC
2. Proficient with computer and construction software. Estimating software, Autobid/Quotesoft
3. Read plans and drawings.
3. Able to perform take-offs and determine labor hours.
4. Strong communication skills
5. Understanding of bid instructions and detail specifications.
