Job Description Technical Sales Account ManagerTerritory: Must live in TX, MI, IL, IN, WI, MO, or DESchedule: Aside from business travel to Territory, a remote position requiring travel to Newark or hybrid in DE, travel to DE office for sales meetings, networking and/or training. Employee shall devote productive time, ability and attention to the business of Sepax as a full-time employee without regard to the office hours or normal hours of operation of the company.Job Summary: Must be a motivated professional to promote and grow sales of Sepax HPLC product portfolio. Needs to focus on expanding existing business and client base in the territory by managing direct and distributor sales. Call on Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Academic accounts by developing, maintaining, and expanding the client base. The responsibilities include selling HPLC liquid chromatography columns and accessories, to achieve quarterly and overall annual sales target established by the company. Must be able to give technical seminars and presentations, virtual and in person, to the client base. This will be achieved through continuous research on customer needs and how it relates to Sepax’s column portfolio.Requirements BS or BA in a scientific discipline. Two plus years in Biotech sales with field travel for in person meetings or bench scientist with 2+ years of lab experience ( in HPLC). Lab experience must show independent management projects and ability to present data internally. Must currently reside in territory. residence in IL, IN, MI, MO, OH, TX, or WI. Strong presentation, analytical and customer service skills to give technical presentations and seminars. Ability to modify presentations to cater to customers’ needs and focus. Excellent organizational skills to multitask many action items at one time to prioritize, and meet the goals and tasks set up by upper management in a timely manner. Must have an enthusiastic attitude with the ability to identify how to spend time managing and multi-tasking on a regular basis. The ability to understand which tasks are an effective use of time or when the process should be modified to better meet sales goals/adjectives. Multitasking activities would include focusing on responding to customers, building up the database, finding new accounts, responding to customers with opportunities to close sales, updating bad emails to new accounts, targeting unfocused accounts, continuously expanding product knowledge, and executing internal manager requests simultaneously. Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. Overnight/weekend travel required with minimum of 15 in person meetings per quarter. Experience with liquid chromatography is a plus. Ability to organize training material into broad concepts without spending too much time getting caught up on the specifics. Ability to self-train by google searches, watch training videos, reach out to internal colleagues, and reviewing literature articles on competitor columns. Excellent listening skills. Works well in a team environment. Ability to work independently to meet goals and objectives. Comfortable to work with different internal departments by being the liaison for the customers to meet their needs and concerns. Ability to successfully multitask and prioritize sales tasks based on meeting/exceeding sales targets. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively over the phone and email. Excellent computer knowledge with Microsoft Office and Salesforce. Must be able to run/analyze reports in Salesforce and further analyze the data in excel. Be able to summarize data in Power Point for professional presentations. Ability to utilize an ERP system for day-to-day operations.Responsibilities Travel to the region 2 times per quarter or a minimum of 15 in person meetings per quarter. Be able to give technical seminars and answer customer technical questions, recommend appropriate products real time, and continuously build the customer database and region to assure a solid schedule every day in the field. Travel on weekends and long days will be required during business trips. Must respond to all emails sent from the direct manager within 24 hours. Mass mail contact base promotions, new literature, meeting requests, webinar/technical seminar requests, and application notes. Understand customer account base with specific sample types and product needs. Send out targeted emails based on specific needs and upsell additional products. Identify a sales plan strategy to target accounts by sample type. Give personalized technical seminars in person and virtually drive sales and promote products. Be able to read scientific journals to understand customer needs and sample types. Prepare a monthly pipeline report that shows territory health and opportunity for growth. Conduct an analysis to show different activities to bring in new leads. Provide customer support for end-user and distributors within 24 business hours of initial communication. Ability to recommend products based on conversion of competitor product as well as identify if a similar one would be more suitable to meet customer needs. Manage a large volume of inbound and outbound emails per day. Maintain customer centric selling techniques to identify challenges and provide a solution-based approach to drive sales. Maintain the highest level of customer service. Continue to expand product knowledge. As new marketing strategies and technical specifications are learned, store new information in an organized fashion to utilize in similar situations/clients. Build up customer database by identifying accounts with additional contacts. Make sure all biologic accounts in the region are built up in Salesforce by updating sample type/adding contacts of existing accounts and continuously adding new biologic accounts in Salesforce. Follow up on opportunities within 30 days of interaction. Work with the technical support group to help solve customer issues. Follow up weekly to provide the best customer service. Make sure the intranet database is updated with all communication. Follow all SOP’s and QMS protocols. Maintain an organized database and record all customer interactions in Salesforce. Run reports/monitor sales activities monthly by product, repeat business vs new, and sales over prior year. Learn how Sepax products fit market needs and how to use their unique technical specifications to upsell to customers. Qualify customers and manage time put into opportunities based on the odds of closure. Make sure to keep a clean database with only active opportunities in the pipeline. Work with marketing team to bring new products/application notes to market. Help update brochures and identify market needs. Provide feedback on new customer interest and market sectors. Some trade show attendance. Utilize and maintain the ERP system to optimize daily functions. Meet all deadlines and complete all assignments. Be able to handle a high level of stress. There can be a multitude of tasks to complete in short time frames and it is important to stay focused and driven to meet sales goals and objectives.
