(Benefits vary by vendor and assignment).\nKey Responsibilities:\nDesign, build, and maintain server-side applications and APIs.\nDevelop the Mobile Service Layer / BFF consumed by American Express mobile applications.\nCreate scalable REST and GraphQL services.\nWrite clean, maintainable, production-ready Kotlin and Java code.\nRefactor and modernize legacy services while building new functionality.\nTroubleshoot production issues and deliver permanent fixes.\nWork across CI/CD pipelines, testing, performance tuning, and deployment automation.\nCollaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and QA teams in a large-scale agile environment.\nKey Requirements and Technology Experience:\n5+ years of backend engineering experience; 10–12 years is ideal.\nProduction experience with Kotlin and Java.\nStrong experience building REST APIs.\nWorking knowledge of GraphQL.\nExperience with Spring Boot and modern backend frameworks.\nHands-on experience with CI/CD and automated testing.\nStrong debugging, refactoring, and performance optimization skills.\nExperience working in large enterprise or financial services environments is a plus.\nBackend for Frontend (BFF) experience\nMicroservices architecture\nLegacy modernization experience\nAsynchronous and event-driven programming\nDocker, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Gradle\nExperience supporting high-scale mobile platforms\n\nOur client is a leading Healthcare Industry, and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
