We are in a significant growth mode and it’s an exciting time to be joining our business!\nWHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:\nThe Process/Mechanical Engineer will lead or execute the discipline scope as applicable in the completion of client projects. Projects are in the power, industrial, chemical, pulp and paper, food and beverage, life sciences, and consumer product industries for a wide range of clients. Projects range in size from the upgrade of a single unit operation to a complete new multi-faceted, multi-phase process implementation.\nLead or execute process designs in the form of engineering calculations documented on PFD’s, P&ID’s, general arrangement drawings, specifications/datasheets, design basis, and associated lists.\nSelection and integration of mechanical/process equipment including combustion & steam turbines, boilers & HRSG’s, emission control equipment, material handling equipment, heat exchangers, compressors, pumps, water treatment systems, control valves, & plant instrumentation.\nGeneration of plant heat/material balances and water balances.\nReview and development of piping systems and Isometric drawings.\nSupport control system and logic design for plant DCS systems.\nActively participate in our internal quality assurance process by reviewing and checking process/mechanical group and interdisciplinary work products.\nSupport the proposal process by providing scope descriptions, project estimates and deliverables list.\nSupport the development and growth of key client relationships.\nDuring project execution, research and analyze data to make sound design decisions aligned with company, client, and project objectives and applicable codes.\nDrawing from experience, apply theory in a practical context to determine feasibility of design, identify potential process upsets and malfunctions incorporating appropriate remediations, and apply commercially available technology for process execution.\nObserve professional ethics, both in the application of codes and standards and personnel interactions.\nYOUR IDEAL BACKGROUND:\nThe successful candidate should have an entrepreneurial spirit, and be excited by opportunities to add value to our clients with Jedson’s engineering expertise. Strong communication skills, collaboration and courage to challenge the status quo are cornerstones of the Jedson Edge.\nBS Chemical or Mechanical Engineering\n2-10 years of experience in power, industrial, chemicals, petrochemical, pulp and paper, consumer products, or the food and beverage industries.\nDemonstrated Servant Leadership to include team building skills.\nExcellent communication skills, verbal and written at all levels within and outside the organization.\nCommitment to safety, quality, client relationships, budget, and schedule.\nProficient with coordinating and conducting detailed phases of engineering projects to achieve milestones.\nExperience developing and implementing standards and procedures, consistent with the continuous improvement of quality and productivity.\nExperience interfacing with clients and supporting marketing and proposal generation efforts.\nExperience in all phases of process design from conceptual design development through commissioning and validation.\nFamiliarity with piping design requirements and the ability to lead a designer through project execution.\nEquipment selection including process requirements, data sheets, bid tab analysis, and layout review.\nTechnical skills to include experience in P&ID development, PSV calculations, hydraulic calculations (AFT or equivalent), specification generation, mass and energy balances to include Thermoflex process simulation.
