Fiber Design (GIS) Field Engineer II

As a Fiber Design Field Engineer II, you'll be supporting outside plant (OSP) fiber network construction and expansion projects in our newest expanding market, Baltimore. This position partners closely with Engineering and Construction teams to ensure fiber builds are executed according to design specifications, municipal standards, and company quality expectations.The Fiber Design Field Engineer II plays a critical role in site walkouts, field revisions, construction inspections, and as-built validation to support efficient and accurate network deployment.Key Responsibilities:Support fiber network projects from initial walkout through project closeoutConduct site surveys and develop Methods of Procedure (MOP) documentation for HOA, MDU, and commercial buildsPerform construction walkouts to inspect ongoing and completed work for adherence to company standardsEngineer district redesigns and field revisions to address real-world construction conditionsCoordinate with Construction Coordinators to verify and validate as-built documentationAssist with easement procurement and pole survey activities as neededCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support efficient network buildout and maintenanceCommunicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and utility stakeholdersTravel within Greenlight markets as neededAssist with additional engineering-related tasks as assignedRequired Qualifications:Minimum of three (3) years of experience in telecommunications engineering, fiber network design, or outside plant constructionExperience supporting OSP fiber builds from walkout through closeoutExperience working with Rights-of-Way (ROW), private easements, and existing utilities (water, sewer, gas, electric, pole infrastructure)Experience with utility poles and pole attachmentsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, conduit prints, fiber maps, and as-built drawingsExperience using GIS or fiber design tools such as Bentley Fiber, Vetro, ArcGIS, OSP Insight, 3-GIS, QGIS, or similar platformsProficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Bluebeam, Google Earth, and related software toolsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing prioritiesThis role requires the use of your personal vehicle to drive to and from prospective site locations. A valid driver's license and insured personal vehicle are required. Schedule & Travel:Full-time positionTravel within Greenlight markets as required to support field operationsCompensation: Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $63,000 – $73,000. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
