Based in Houston, Texas, Saber Power offers deep subject matter expertise and uses an engineering-led approach to designing, installing, testing, and maintaining medium and high-voltage electrical infrastructure. Saber serves clients locally, nationally, and abroad.\n\nPosition Summary:\nAn Engineer III develops, designs, and analyzes electrical power systems and substations. The engineer works within a design team to create all technical documents including bills of material, specifications, and design drawings.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nCreates designs under supervision of a Senior Engineer\nProvides technical guidance to designers and drafters\nSpecifies major equipment such as generators, transformers, circuit breakers and switchgear\nControls quality of specified equipment and design packages\nSupervises production of technical drawings such as one-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, interconnection drawings, equipment arrangement plans, section views, grounding plans, conduit plans, cable tray plans and all associated installation details\nPerforms electrical studies such as power flow, short-circuit, device evaluation, device coordination, static and dynamic motor starting, harmonic analysis, ground grid analysis and arc-flash hazard assessment\nActs as a company representative and manages correspondence between clients, suppliers and coworkers\nTakes ownership and responsibility with each project\nPerform other job-related duties as requested by management.\nQualifications:\nBSEE from ABET approved university\n4+ years’ experience\nPassed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam\nNCEES record a plus\nParticipation in professional societies, particularly IEEE\nUnderstanding of industry standards and guidelines including ANSI, IEEE, NEMA, NEC, NESC, and others\nUnderstanding constructability of design, field concepts, practices, and procedures\nSafety is a Core Value with our organization.
