The role blends platform and release engineering with hands-on AI (agentic) engineering: designing and operating the CI/CD process, building the automated quality and security gates that code must pass before release, verifying the health of every deployment, and building the agent-based tooling that makes all of it scale.\nThe position works alongside VOLT's external development partner, running the merge and release gates against their pull requests, and partners with the Systems Administrator to bring VOLT's internally built applications under the same delivery and quality standards. It reports to the Director of IT and partners closely with the Enterprise Solutions Architect, Systems Administrator, QA, and Marketing.\nThis is a hands-on, senior individual-contributor role for someone who has owned a production deployment pipeline end to end and has engineered agent-based automation, and who is equally comfortable building the system and operating it day to day.\nResponsibilities\n1. VOLT's software delivery platform\nDesign and operate VOLT's CI/CD pipeline for Adobe Commerce on VOLT-owned Bitbucket\nOwn the deployment process across integration, staging, and production environments\nBuild the automated quality gates that run before code reaches production: static analysis, coding standards, and automated tests\n2. Security in the delivery process\nSecret scanning and credential handling in the repository and the pipeline\nEnforce that credentials never reach source control\nOwn the access and permission model for the repository and the deployment environments\n5. Working with partners and the team\nRun merge and release gates against pull requests from our external development partner\nPartner with and shepherd the Systems Administrator, who handles internal application operations (hosting, patching, backup, uptime), bringing those applications under the same delivery and quality standards\nGrow the Systems Administrator into a Systems Engineer who runs day-to-day pipeline operation, so routine releases do not depend on any single person.
