MUST BE WILLING TO WORK ON-SITE, IN HOUSTON, TX**Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Big Data and Advanced Analytics department. As part of the Data Engineering team, the Data Engineer will work closely with Data Scientists and Business domain experts to solve real-world oil and gas midstream problems using advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. This individual will provide analytical and technical leadership to the team to advance the data engineering practice within the organization. Responsibilities include:Work directly with Business domain experts and Data Scientists to understand the analytics objective and provide trusted, cleansed, curated data sets in a timely mannerCollect, explore, and prepare data for advanced analytics and machine learningPerform exploratory data analysis and present findings for further analysisDesign and implement high quality analytical applications and data productsAutomate manual data flows for repeated use and scalabilityDevelop data-intensive applications with API’s and streaming data pipelinesConvert research-based machine learning models into production-ready softwareAssists data analysts and data scientists with data extraction, feature engineering, query optimization, and data processingImplement data quality checks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliabilityQualificationsThe successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:5+ years of functional programming experience in PythonExperience performing exploratory data analysis using common statistical methodsExperience working with industrial IOT data and performing time series analysisStrong understanding of data structures and algorithmsExperience in building mathematical software solutions such as optimization solvers and simulationsExpertise in software engineering practices such as Design Principles and Patterns, Testing, CI/CD, and version controlDomain experience in Oil & Gas and/or an Engineering discipline such as Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred
