Senior Credit Analyst

Position SummaryThe Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing, underwriting, and monitoring commercial real estate lending opportunities. This position supports Relationship Managers and Credit Officers by evaluating the financial strength of borrowers, guarantors, and real estate collateral to ensure sound credit decisions and adherence to the Bank's credit policies.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze commercial real estate loan requests, including acquisitions, refinances, construction loans, bridge loans, and owner-occupied properties.Review and spread borrower and guarantor financial statements, tax returns, rent rolls, operating statements, and personal financial statements.Perform cash flow analysis and assess debt service coverage, liquidity, leverage, and repayment capacity.Evaluate real estate collateral, including property operating performance, occupancy trends, market conditions, and appraisal reports.Calculate and analyze key CRE metrics, including Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR), Loan-to-Value (LTV), Debt Yield, and Global Cash Flow.Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and loan presentations for approval by Credit Administration and Loan Committees.Conduct industry, market, and sponsor analysis to identify potential risks and mitigants.Monitor existing loan relationships and assist with annual reviews, covenant compliance, risk rating assessments, and portfolio management.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal credit policies, and lending guidelines.Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Underwriters, Appraisers, and Legal Counsel throughout the loan approval and closing process.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.2+ years of commercial banking, credit analysis, underwriting, or commercial real estate lending experience preferred.Strong understanding of commercial real estate lending principles and credit risk analysis.Experience analyzing income-producing properties, including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, mixed-use, hospitality, and construction projects.Proficiency in financial statement analysis, cash flow modeling, and credit underwriting.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed credit presentations.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial spreadsheet software.Preferred QualificationsExperience with commercial real estate loan underwriting at a bank or financial institution.Knowledge of regulatory lending requirements and commercial credit policies.Familiarity with construction lending and real estate development projects.
