This role supports our doctors and technicians in providing excellent patient care and client service throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, works well in a team environment, communicates effectively, and is comfortable working in a busy veterinary setting.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and treatmentsSafely restrain pets during exams, procedures, and treatmentsPrepare exam rooms and treatment areasObtain patient histories and assist with client communicationSupport surgical and dental procedures as directedPerform cleaning and sterilization of equipment and hospital areasAssist with laboratory sample collection and diagnostic testingMaintain accurate patient records and treatment notesHelp stock supplies and maintain hospital organizationProvide compassionate care and support to patients and clientsWork collaboratively with the medical team to maintain efficient workflow and patient care standardsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious veterinary assistant or animal handling experience preferredAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectivelyStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of various sizes and temperamentsBasic computer skills and willingness to learn hospital software systemsPositive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethicPassion for animal care and client serviceCompensation & BenefitsBase Hourly Rate: $16.00 – $20.00/hour DOEThis Position May Also Be Eligible ForPeriodic bonus opportunities (where applicable)Benefits May IncludeMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k)Health Savings Account (HSA)Paid time off and holiday payEmployee pet care discountsSupportive and team-focused work environmentIllinois Pay Transparency InformationIn Compliance With Illinois Pay Transparency RequirementsThis position is also eligible for a periodic bonus (where applicable)This position is not eligible for commission opportunities.
