That’s why the people in our Electrical & Fastening Solutions segment are responsible for engineering more than 100 patents.\n\nAs electrical systems become more complex, nVent’s fastening experts focus on keeping things simple for the customer. Besides superior technical performance, our nVent CADDY and nVent ERICO brands of fasteners are designed for easy and intuitive installation.\n\nPOsition SUmmary\n\nEnsure uninterrupted production flow in assigned process. Provide problem support and coaching / on-the-job training to employees to ensure the day-to-day business unit department goals are being met. Communicate with a variety of support resources to resolve problems.\n\nKey role responsibilities\n\nProvide backup to the Shipping Supervisor for all assigned areas.\nKnowledge of Lean principles in order to lead and participate in MDI, 5S, and Kaizen activities\nDrive out waste throughout department through the deployment of the Lean methodology\nOperate a variety of equipment applicable within assigned area (i.e., CRTs, forklifts, etc.).\nExecute and coordinate employee training\nCoordinate the timely and accurate movement of material and information into, within and out of assigned work area as needed.\nDrive a continuous improvement culture by involving employees in problem solving, decision making, as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.\nEnsure all employees are properly following startup, shutdown, and break times\nEnsure all employees are properly filling out required paperwork\nCommunicate issues to other shifts and support functions via email and in person\nResponsible for ensuring that all employees are performing their duties in a safe manner, and ensuring that appropriate medical attention is provided in the event of an injury\nReport any safety hazards or incidents in a timely manner. Provide detailed report for incidents.\nParticipate in safety inspections.\nAdjust staffing as necessary in response to material, machine, or labor changes throughout the shift\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nqualifications and experience\n\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:\n\nHigh school diploma or G.E.D\n3-5 years shipping work experience preferred.\nComputer experience with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, MACPAC and the Internet.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:\n\nKnowledge of all operations of the assigned shipping process required\nKnowledge of safety policies and procedures, and ability to promote compliance with them.\nSkill in analytical thinking and problem solving\nSkill in communicating effectively through oral and written communications\nSkill in following detailed assembly instructions, processes and procedures.\nAbility to communicate job expectations to staff and achieving desired results by monitoring, coaching, and enforcing policies and procedures.\nAbility to achieve high productivity by reliable and punctual attendance and reporting any tardiness, attendance issues and disciplinary issues to the Shipping Supervisor.\nAbility to conduct operator training on standard work to include: work instructions, machine adjustments, product quality, company and value stream policies and procedures as required.\nAbility to identify and support continuous improvement efforts with the Shipping Supervisor.\nAbility to sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities\nAbility to maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.\nAbility to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.\n\nWE HAVE:\n\nA dynamic global reach with diverse operations around the world that will stretch your abilities, provide plentiful career opportunities, and allow you to make an impact every day\n\nnVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions.
