Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Gynecologic OncologyAdvanced Womens CareLocation: Phoenix, AZPosition Type: Full-TimeSchedule: Monday-Friday | Shared Call | No Routine WeekendsPosition OverviewAdvanced Womens Care is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Gynecologic Oncology team with a strong focus on surgical assisting and inpatient management. This role is ideal for an oncology APP who thrives in both the operating room and hospital setting, while also maintaining continuity of care in the outpatient clinic.The APP will work closely with gynecologic oncologists across the full continuum of care, with primary responsibilities including first-assisting in complex oncologic surgeries, inpatient rounding, and post-operative management.Core ResponsibilitiesSurgical AssistFirst assist in gynecologic oncology procedures including:Robotic and laparoscopic surgeriesOpen abdominal proceduresStaging and debulking surgeriesHysterectomies, lymphadenectomies, and complex pelvic proceduresPre-operative patient evaluation and surgical clearance coordinationPost-operative orders, documentation, and care planningCollaboration with anesthesia, OR staff, and surgical teamsInpatient Rounding & Hospital CareDaily inpatient rounding on post-operative and oncology patientsManage pain control, post-surgical complications, and acute oncologic issuesOrder and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studiesCoordinate discharge planning and transitions of careCommunicate with consulting services and hospital teamsOutpatient & Oncology ManagementConduct follow-up visits and symptom management appointmentsManage chemotherapy-related side effects and treatment complicationsProvide patient and family educationAssist with survivorship care planningQualificationsRequired:Minimum of 2+ years of oncology experience as an NP or PAPrior surgical assisting experience required (robotic and/or open surgery preferred)Active Arizona licenseFor Nurse Practitioners:Masters degree from accredited NP programCurrent AZ RN and APRN licenseFNP or AGPCNP certificationFor Physician Assistants:Graduate of accredited PA programNCCPA certificationLicensed by AZ State Board of Medical PracticeAdditional Requirements:BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) at start dateDEA registration requiredACLS certification Strong procedural skills and surgical knowledgeAbility to work independently in the hospital settingExcellent communication and critical thinking skillsWhat We OfferCompetitive salary based on experience401(k) with employer matchComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverageGenerous PTOCME allowance and dedicated CME timeCollaborative, high-acuity surgical oncology environmentOpportunity to develop advanced surgical and inpatient oncology expertiseWhy Join Our Team?This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role in complex gynecologic oncology surgeries while maintaining continuity of care from hospital to clinic.
