Fund Accounting Manager

Manager, Fund Accounting – Private Equity | Hybrid Boston A leading growth equity firm with over $28B+ in AUM is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to support its expanding private equity platform. This role offers exposure to complex fund structures, investor reporting, audits, capital activity, and portfolio transactions while working closely with senior finance leadership. The position provides significant visibility, a collaborative culture, and the opportunity to contribute to one of the most active software-focused investment firms in the market.Key Responsibilities:Oversee capital calls, distributions, management fee calculations, cash reconciliations, and investor allocationsReview quarterly and annual financial statements, investor reporting packages, and supporting schedulesManage waterfall calculations and incentive allocation modelsLead audit coordination and serve as the primary liaison with external auditorsOversee investor communications, reporting, and fund operational activitiesAct as a primary point of contact for clients and provide ongoing accounting and operational supportSupervise and mentor junior team members while managing workflow and deliverablesDrive process improvements, controls enhancements, and operational efficienciesParticipate in client onboarding initiatives and strategic projectsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field6+ years of experience in private equity fund accounting, fund administration, alternative investments, or public accounting serving financial services clientsStrong understanding of partnership accounting, capital activity, investor allocations, and waterfall calculationsExperience reviewing financial statements and managing fund auditsPrior client-facing experience with strong relationship management skillsLeadership experience overseeing or mentoring junior professionalsAdvanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilitiesCPA and experience with leading fund accounting systems preferredHighlights:Hybrid work environmentStrong benefits package and retirement matchHigh-growth platform with a collaborative cultureExposure to sophisticated private equity fund structures and senior-level stakeholdersClear path for professional growth and leadership development
