{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d35f8bf6fd6df6d3ee3a2df4","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d35f8bf6fd6df6d3ee3a2df4","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d35f8bf6fd6df6d3ee3a2df4","title":"Information Technology Intern","description":"Applied Optimization (AO) Job Description\n\nJob Title: Information Technology (IT) Engineer Intern Reports to: Principal Scientist\n\nFLSA Status: Part-Time (Non-Exempt) Department: IT\n\nPosition Objective:\nTo assist in administrating, maintaining and enhancing all aspects of the information (IT) technology utilized at AO, with minimal intrusion to other co-workers.\nEssential Functions:\nProvide technical support to maintain the information systems within the organization and interface with Managed Service Provider (MSP) and vendors.\nMaintain all software and hardware currently used within the company and possess the ability to quickly assimilate and understand other software as needed.\nMaintain an orderly and accessible inventory of hardware and software as well as track licenses and renewal updates as needed.\nDiagnose and repair computer hardware problems, including but not limited to PC’s, printers, laptops, smartphones and other electronic devices.\nCoordinate with the MSP to develop and follow protocols for purchase of hardware and software to maintain rigorous compliance with security requirements.\nParticipate in training sessions and lead training sessions are needed to acquaint other with new and/or current software and hardware.\nPlan for the future IT needs of the company, including technologies, systems, policies and procedures.\nDuties subject to change as determined by needs of business over time.\nRequired Qualifications:\nCollege Sophomore or Junior with GPA of 3.5 or higher\nAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time\nEffective problem solving and debugging skills\nAttention to detail and effective time and schedule management skills\nEffective oral and written communication skills\nProficient in Microsoft Windows-related platform technical support. Some Linux experience is desirable\nGood working knowledge of computer networks\nAbility to respond to evolving customer requirements\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAssociate’s Degree; and one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience\nFamiliarity of Software development lifecycle and revision control practices is helpful\nCitizenship/Security Clearance Requirements:\nU.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder\nMay be required to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance\nAbout Our Internships:\nHours: The internship is a part-time, year-round position that requires a minimum of sixteen hours per week of work. The hours are flexible and they can change from one quarter to another based on the class schedule.
