You can sketch or prototype in Figma, and then bring that same idea to life in React and TypeScript . You care deeply about design quality and UI performance, after all, we are building developer tooling.\r\nYou'll collaborate across design, product, and engineering to define how WunderGraph looks, feels, and works. You'll contribute to design systems, explore new interaction patterns directly in code, and ensure that everything we ship, from the company site to the product, feels cohesive and crafted.\r\nThis role is ideal for someone that wants to have immense ownership over how we build developer tooling internally, and how we present ourselves to the world. You're curious and pragmatic, you understand that great user experience comes from tight feedback loops between design and implementation.\r\nTEAM INTEGRATION\r\nReports to CTO, is part of the Engineering team\r\nAligns closely with the CEO (Product) and CCO (customer experience and business impact)\r\nCollaborates cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, product, and customer success\r\nActs as a design mentor and thought partner within the team\r\nROLE OBJECTIVES\r\nYou are successful if you\r\nLead the end-to-end design-engineering process for web and product experiences, from discovery to delivery.\r\nDrive a consistent, scalable, and technically feasible design system across product and marketing.\r\nTranslate customer needs and business goals into user-centric solutions that can be built and maintained at scale.\r\nChampion accessibility, usability, performance, and responsive design best practices.\r\nMentor teammates on design and front-end best practices.\r\nStrengthen WunderGraph's product and brand identity through thoughtful, technically sound design execution.\r\nInfluence product strategy by connecting design decisions with engineering and business outcomes.\r\nShape WunderGraph's brand and product experience through thoughtful, technically sound design decisions.\r\nROLE TASKS\r\nProduct & Design Engineering\r\nDesign and prototype user flows, interfaces, and interactions with scalability in mind.\r\nContribute to implementation by working closely with engineers (and coding where appropriate).\r\nDefine and evolve our design system and component library, ensuring technical maintainability.\r\nConduct and oversee user research, usability testing, and competitor analysis.\r\nIntroduce advanced prototyping, interaction design, and performance-focused practices.\r\nWeb & Brand Experience\r\nOwn the design and technical evolution of WunderGraph's web presence.\r\nDeliver assets that blend design and code: landing pages, visuals, campaign graphics, and interactive components.\r\nShape and maintain a cohesive style guide, balancing design innovation with engineering consistency.\r\nSupport brand storytelling with technically feasible motion graphics and interactive elements.\r\nLeadership & Collaboration Set best practices for design-to-engineering workflows, documentation, and handoff.\r\nMentor and support teammates in both design and front-end implementation.\r\nAct as a design/engineering advocate across the organization.\r\nRepresent the team in cross-functional workshops and external thought leadership.\r\nROLE REQUIREMENTS\r\nSenior-level experience in Design Engineering, Product, or UX/UI Design with a strong portfolio of projects.\r\nProficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, or Adobe Creative Suite.\r\nWorking knowledge of front-end technologies (such as HTML/CSS, React/Typescript, Javascript etc).\r\nStrong background in UX research, accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimization.\r\nExperience contributing to or leading design systems and component libraries.\r\nAbility to bridge design and engineering with hands-on contributions.\r\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills in English.\r\nSelf-starter, capable of leading initiatives independently.\r\nComfortable working 100% remotely in a distributed team.\r\nWillingness to travel occasionally for team retreats and workshops.\r\nWhy WunderGraph?\r\nWork from wherever you thrive—we're fully remote and globally distributed.
