Electrical Designer
Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob DescriptionThis Electrical Designer role focuses on creating detailed electrical designs and drawings for large-scale industrial projects across sectors such as agricultural, manufacturing, power, refinery, and consumer and industrial buildings. The position requires strong technical expertise in AutoCAD and Revit, a solid understanding of electrical codes and power distribution systems, and the ability to produce accurate design and detail drawings. You will contribute to a stable workload of interesting projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a professional and supportive environment.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and produce detailed electrical design and drafting deliverables, including design and detail drawings, plans, and complete drawing sets using AutoCAD and Revit.Apply working knowledge of National Electric Codes, reference documents, and design guides to ensure all designs comply with applicable standards and regulations.Design power distribution systems ranging from 480V to 12kV, including lighting, grounding, motor controls, and heat tracing for industrial and commercial facilities.Collaborate with engineers and project teams on energy, chemical, industrial, and other large-scale projects to translate design concepts into accurate construction documents.Review, update, and maintain electrical drawings and documentation throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accuracy and consistency.Use Microsoft Office tools to prepare reports, schedules, documentation, and project correspondence related to electrical design activities.Analyze design requirements, identify potential issues, and propose effective solutions using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, organizing work to meet deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders, using strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate design efforts and resolve design-related questions.Ensure attention to detail in all aspects of drafting and design to support safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems.Essential Skills5–7 years of drafting experience in electrical design, with the ability to generate design and detail drawings, plans, and drawing sets.Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design and drafting.Proficiency in Revit for electrical design and modeling.Associate Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent related experience.Working knowledge of National Electric Codes, reference documents, and design guides.Knowledge of power distribution systems from 480V to 12kV, including lighting, grounding, motor controls, and heat tracing.Demonstrated electrical design experience, preferably in energy, chemical, or industrial environments.Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily office-based, with the potential for a hybrid arrangement depending on candidate location. A typical schedule may include three days in the office and two days working remotely, providing flexibility while maintaining strong team collaboration. You will work on large-scale industrial projects with a stable workload over multiple years, using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office in a professional design office setting.
