Behavioral Health AssociateBehavioral Health Associates (BHAs) at Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital deliver quality care to patients with varying psychiatric, behavioral and mental health diagnoses, ensuring their safety and continued care. Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:Assists the Registered Nurse with admissions by obtaining vital signs and securing belongings.Screens visitors and incoming calls, answers questions and prioritizes or redirects calls as appropriate.Assists the Registered Nurse with the discharge process, returning belongings, and escorting individuals out of the hospital.Facilitates activity, education and leisure groups.Documents the purpose and outcome of the group for each member.Provides escorts for patients to the cafeteria, to the outside courtyards, or to other areas/departments in the hospital.Maintains current observation check sheets for all patients on their assigned unit.Conducts safety rounds each shift on the units including groups rooms, laundry rooms, and patient rooms.Documents safety rounds.Demonstrates compassion and respect when interacting with the individuals in our care and their families/care partners.Mentors and coaches patients on early warning signs and triggers.What do our current staff value at LBHH? At least one (1) year of experience in mental health & previous adolescent experience preferred. Ability to work 2nd shift - 7 pm to 7 am. CPR certification is required upon hire and will be provided at orientation.
