This engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and sustaining safe, repeatable, and high-quality manufacturing processes for complex mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.\nThis role is ideal for an engineer with 2–4 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, automotive, or similar final assembly environments who thrives on shop-floor engagement, Lean execution, and ownership of processes—not just documentation. The role partners closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to ensure products are built right the first time and can scale reliably as demand grows.\nAt LiquidStack, this mindset.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nProcess Ownership & Final Assembly Support\nOwn and continuously improve assigned final assembly manufacturing processes, from standard work development through execution and sustainment.\nDevelop, maintain, and improve routings, work instructions, process flows, and visual standards.\nProvide daily, hands-on shop-floor support to troubleshoot process issues, defects, bottlenecks, and variability.\nRead and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fluid assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.\nSupport line balancing, takt time and cycle-time analysis, workstation layout, and ergonomic improvements.\nSupport basic tooling, fixtures, and work-cell improvements to enhance safety, quality, and throughput.\n\nLean Manufacturing, 5S/6S & Continuous Improvement\nApply Lean manufacturing methodologies to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).\nDemonstrate applied Lean experience, including participation in Kaizen events, waste elimination, and standard work implementation.\nLead and sustain 5S/6S initiatives, audits, corrective actions, and visual management within assigned areas.\nUse structured problem-solving tools (A3, root cause analysis, DMAIC) to drive measurable improvements.\n\nQuality Systems & ISO Discipline\nOperate effectively within ISO-based quality management systems and manufacturing controls.\nPartner with Quality to support PFMEAs, control plans, nonconformance investigations, and CAPA.\nPromote \"build quality into the process\" principles rather than reliance on inspection.\nEnsure process documentation is accurate, current, and audit-ready.\nSafety-First Mindset\nActively promote and model a safety-first culture on the manufacturing floor.\nEnsure processes, tooling, and workstations comply with safety and ergonomic standards.\nParticipate in safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard mitigation activities.\nReinforce safe behaviors and expectations with operators and peers.\n\nScaling & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nSupport manufacturing scale-up, including new product introductions, volume increases, and process stabilization.\nCollaborate with Design Engineering to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback and implement engineering changes.\nPartner with Production and Supply Chain to resolve material flow, tooling, and capacity constraints.\nCommunicate clearly and effectively with operators, supervisors, and cross-functional stakeholders.\nSPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\n\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.\n2–4 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in a final assembly environment.\nDemonstrated application of Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S/6S, standard work, Kaizen participation).\nExperience supporting production directly on the shop floor.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and fluid drawings.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nClear written and verbal communication skills.\n\nPreferred\nSix Sigma certification or formal Six Sigma training (Green Belt preferred).\nExperience implementing and sustaining 5S/6S.\nFamiliarity with ISO quality systems, audits, and documentation.\nExperience with root cause analysis, CAPA, PFMEA, and control plans.\nExposure to ERP/MRP systems.\nExperience with HVAC systems, piping, fluid handling, or electromechanical assemblies.\nFamiliarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).\n\nSPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT\nAbility to spend significant time in a manufacturing and production
