This individual will have the opportunity to define and implement latest data center and storage technologies, and to create proof of concepts and technical feature paper presentations to differentiate Supermicro product through online and at various industry events. This individual will also be the go-to person for product managers and system engineers to be the subject of matter expert in application benchmarks specifically in networking, storage, and virtualization.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nIncludes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):\nWork with product managers, system engineers and production to manage the product life cycle (from design to EOL phase), and help production to solve any system level issues\nDefine and develop application benchmarks based on enterprise storage requirements and generic server architecture, key examples include Vdbench, FIO, RDMA, flashed based storage (NVDIMM, and NVMe)\nExecute benchmark testing and build proof of concepts based on latest data center technologies and Supermicro server products such as the Supermicro SuperServers\nApply various component knowledge such as CPU, DRAM, flash-based storage, and motherboard to develop and integrate embedded system products and solutions\nProactively engage in learning and researching new technologies and products to propose new Proof of Concepts\nWork with sales/FAE and customers to provide optimal solution and technical support\nExperiences in internal cable design spec and process\nQualifications:\nBachelor or Master's degree in EE, CE, CS or ME with minimum of 8 years working experiences\nStrong knowledge in enterprise server architecture. Previous experience in server product development is a plus\nStrong knowledge in server architecture (including PCIe, SATA, and SAS protocols) and OS applications, and knowledge in vSAN is a plus\nKnowledge in benchmarks(FIO/IOMeter/vdbench), in-band and OOB (IPMI/BIOS) management is a plus\nExperiences in Windows and Linux OS and scripting languages (python, JavaScript, Visual Basic) are a plus\nProficiency in using hand and power tools for hardware installation\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and diagrams\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail\nSalary Range\n$137,000 - $156,000\nThe salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
