With over 50 years of growth and more than 100 locations worldwide, we offer a winning team in a growing global organization.\n\nThe Technology Development Engineer (TDE) is responsible for creating new designs in targeted customers, developing key product positioning and supplier strategy, and converting these designs to drive increased sales and profitability through supplier design registration program protection. This role supports our Southeast Territory covering Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDevelop technical product, application, and supplier strategies in collaboration with the Director of Technical Sales & Marketing and Regional Sales teams to define target customers and expand regional plans.\n\nCollaborate with Outside Sales teams and strategic suppliers to visit customers and execute design‑in of focus products into end‑customer applications.\n\nDrive customer visit activity, evaluate new potential customers, and support customer design locations that may use TTI products.\n\nUse Customer Account Manager (CAM) and Opportunity Management System (OMS) tools to monitor plan activities and report progress to Branch Product Managers and Sales Managers.\n\nReview OMS activity for new projects with high potential for product design‑in and collaborate with technical and business development resources.\n\nMaintain project information in CAM, ensure valid design registrations are applied for, and coordinate with Technical Support when assigned to a project.\n\nProvide commercial/business acumen to prioritize key projects and maximize design conversion, driving increased sales revenue.\n\nWork closely with sales organization via CAM to identify potential design opportunities and evaluate new customers.\n\nUtilize internal tools (iPad, CAM, Product Communicator, Express, BI, OMS, intranet, TTI website) for strategy and customer visit planning.\n\nUnderstand supplier design registration programs, design protection cost discounts, market pricing, and competitor activities; maintain regional market awareness on application trends.\n\nEducation and Experience Requirements\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or a closely related field.\n\nMinimum 5 years of related experience in technical support within a distributor, supplier, or design function for relevant product technology.\n\nWhat we look for\n\nExtensive product and technical knowledge within the distribution industry.\n\nCustomer and application knowledge within the territory.\n\nExperience with NBO identification and development at customer level.\n\nStrong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.\n\nTeam player collaborating with TSEs and Outside Sales.\n\nGood sales and negotiation skills to persuade customers and suppliers.\n\nSelf‑motivated, able to work from a home office.\n\nGood presentation, mentoring, verbal and written communication skills.\n\nAnalytical skills for strategy development and success measurement.\n\nStrong English language skills.\n\nProficiency in all relevant IT systems and MS Office applications.\n\nValid driver’s license with a safe driving record; insurable by company liability carrier.\n\nAbility to travel up to 50%.\n\nBenefits\n\nComprehensive benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k)/Roth with matching, Healthcare Savings Accounts.\n\nEducational Assistance (Tuition Reimbursement).\n\nOngoing training and professional development opportunities.\n\nPhilanthropic community involvement.\n\nRemote Work\nRemote work may only be performed in the following states at TTI Inc.: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, GL, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, TX, WA, WI.\n\nRegulatory & Other Information\nThis position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
