This role requires expertise in boiler re-tubing, installation of boiler equipment, and ensuring compliance with ASME and NBIC codes. The selected candidate will work closely with our service team and engineering department to provide top-notch service to our valued customers.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude the following:Conduct welding and fit-up tasks, including TIG, MIG and StickPerform oxygen cutting (acetylene), brazing of copper piping, and pipe fitting and plumbing as requiredPrepare boilers for inspection and carry out mechanical installations of boilers and related equipmentSafely remove and replace tubes on boilers, ensuring accurate refractory repair and installationCollaborate with the Quality Control Manager and Service Coordinator to complete assigned dutiesKeep records and prepare service reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and proceduresParticipate in factory training for boiler pressure vessel welders and stay updated on ASME Code repairs and welding proceduresTroubleshoot boilers, pumps, and auxiliary equipment, identifying and addressing potential issuesCollaborate with the sales team to package service contracts with our boiler product linesEnsure all tasks are completed within standard time and in adherence to safety requirementsMaintain good communication skills and work effectively in a team atmosphereComply with ASME and NBIC standards in performing repairs on boilers and pressure vesselsProvide support for ASME boiler code application, assisting in proper equipment repair, operation, and selectionDisplay a customer-centric approach, solving customer problems and ensuring customer satisfactionContinuously seek opportunities for learning and expanding knowledge in relevant areasWelders to successfully pass welding tests/certifications under Icon Boiler’s code programEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, legal regulations, and recommended best practicesCollaborate with all Associates to uphold the company’s mission and valuesOccasional travel as requiredMust be able to work overtime as requiredSkills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent5+ years of relevant experience in boiler service, repair, and/or mechanical operationsCertified in the 6G welding position (ASME certification desirable but not required)Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and blueprintsBasic computer skillsStrong reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical skillsDetail-oriented and organized, with excellent paperwork managementEmpathetic and customer-focused, willing to go the extra mile to solve customer issuesAbility to work in varying temperatures and physically demanding environmentsStrong communication and team-building skillsAbility to pass drug screeningAbility to prove US employment eligibilityMust possess a valid driver’s licensePHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSUREThe physical demands and environmental exposure described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
