This role focuses on design, development, and maintaining scalable web applications and internal tools, including complex WordPress multisite networks, Git workflows, version-controlled deployments. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with a process-oriented mindset to support rebuilds, integrations and ongoing web enhancements and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.\nThis temporary position is based out of our office in Chicago, IL and is fully on-site.\nYour Responsibilities\nWebsite Design & development\nBuild and manage custom WordPress themes, plugins and PHP-based solutions, while optimizing multisite performance.\nLead the design, development and maintenance of the company's websites, ensuring optimal functionality, user experience (UX) and accessibility.\nLead the redesign and launch of websites for new acquisitions, ensuring a seamless brand integration.\nTroubleshoot cross-platform issues, perform root cause analysis and integrate third-party APIs to enhance functionality.\nOversee website governance, ensuring consistency, accuracy and compliance with industry standards.\nUser Experience & Conversion Optimization\nConduct UX audits and implement best practices to enhance engagement and lead conversion.\nWork closely with design and development teams to create user-friendly interfaces and mobile-responsive experiences.\nLeverage A/B testing and heat mapping tools to drive data-driven website improvements.\nEnsure compliance with ADA and WCAG accessibility standards.\nSEO & Analytics\nImplement SEO best practices, including content optimization, metadata management and structured data implementation.\nTrack, analyze, and report on website traffic, engagement and conversion rates, providing strategic recommendations for improvement.\nDevelop and deliver regular performance reports for leadership, highlighting insights and opportunities.\nDigital Marketing & Campaign Support\nSupport Marketing and Sales team initiatives for campaigns, promos and events\nManage integrations with third-party marketing tools, including CRM platforms, analytics tools and social media APIs.\nVendor & Technology Management\nManage relationships with web hosting providers, development agencies and software vendors.\nOversee DNS management and ensure compliance with licensing agreements.\nEvaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance website functionality and user experience.\nThe responsibilities listed above may not be all inclusive.\nWhat We Require\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.\n3+ years of experience in Web development, UX design and digital marketing strategy.\nStrong proficiency in WordPress or similar CMS platforms.\nExpertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and front-end development.\nExperience with SEO strategy, website analytics, and conversion optimization.\nProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics and A/B testing tools.\nStrong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and implement strategic improvements.\nExcellent communication and project management skills.\nOperational Details\nJob location is based in-office at Scion's Chicago corporate headquarters.\nWorking hours consist of standard daytime business hours.\nThe Scion Group LLC provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, creed, national origin, color, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, physical or mental disability (as long as the employee/applicant is otherwise qualified for the job with or without a reasonable accommodation), genetic information, HIV/AIDS status, marital status, uniformed service, veteran status, pregnancy or other legally protected status or category under federal or state law.
