We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.\nJob Overview\nJob Overview\nThe Development Efficiency Data Science team within PDX is responsible for ensuring that Intuit’s Development Efficiency metric is analytically correct, interpretable, and trusted as it becomes a core input to FY26 execution, planning, and finance conversations.\nWe are seeking a Staff DS to lead Development Efficiency Data Science. This role owns the analytical strategy, measurement framework, and interpretation standards for Development Efficiency across the Product Development Lifecycle. The role is explicitly focused on measurement science and decision support, not on building developer platforms, enforcing tooling, or operating systems.\nThis leader will manage a team of senior data scientists and partner closely with Finance, PDX leadership, and senior stakeholders to translate complex analytical outputs into clear, defensible narratives that inform planning, prioritization, and investment decisions.\n\nResponsibilities\nAnalytical Ownership and Strategy\nOwn the end-to-end analytical approach for Development Efficiency, including metric definition, modeling strategy, and ongoing evolution\n\nEstablish and maintain standards for:\n\nBaseline selection and recalibration\n\nTime normalization and seasonality adjustments\n\nConcurrency and throughput modeling\n\nInterpretation of observed efficiency changes\n\nEnsure Development Efficiency metrics are internally consistent, analytically defensible, and appropriate for executive and Finance use\n\nStakeholder Partnership and Influence\nPartner with Finance, PDX leaders, and IG stakeholders to align on how Development Efficiency metrics are used in planning and reporting\n\nClearly communicate metric assumptions, limitations, and confidence levels to senior audiences\n\nAnticipate and address skepticism by proactively surfacing risks, uncertainty, and trade-offs\n\nTeam Leadership\nManage and develop a team of 2–4 data scientists, including senior ICs\n\nSet expectations for analytical rigor, clarity of communication, and stakeholder impact\n\nOwn work intake, prioritization, and delivery cadence aligned to FY26 milestones\n\nGovernance and Standards\nAct as the single analytical authority for Development Efficiency\n\nEnsure consistent interpretation of metrics across forums and leadership discussions\n\nDrive documentation and knowledge sharing to reduce rework and misalignment\n\nQualifications\n\n8+ years of experience delivering advanced analytics or data science solutions in complex business environments\n\nDeep expertise in statistical modeling, time-series analysis, and causal inference\n\nDemonstrated experience owning high-visibility, derived metrics used by senior leadership or Finance\n\nStrong ability to influence through structured, evidence-based storytelling\n\nComfort operating in ambiguous environments with incomplete or imperfect data\n\nAdvanced degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field\nPeople management experience, including senior data scientists or analysts- advantage\n\nIntuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach.
