In addition, this position will support Third Party fundraising initiatives led by individuals and businesses.\nThrough collaboration and coordination with national and regional teams, Chapter staff, and volunteer partners, the Development Manager champions a strategic approach to One Walk & Peer to Peer program development.\nResponsibilities include team recruitment and development, volunteer leader recruitment and engagement, and donor stewardship that will grow the programs at all levels and ensure an extraordinary participant experience.\nThe right person in this position is an integral member of the team, driving new business development, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of fundraising, and chapter operations. This includes identifying and engaging new donors, managing, evaluating, and expanding cultivation opportunities, oversight of various event activities, and support. They organize and execute select administrative components that support the donor giving cycle, from qualification to stewardship.\nThe Development Manager is a member of the Peer to Peer Fundraising Team and reports to the Development Director. The position is remote but must be based in Northern California to support the Northern California region. The expectation is that staff will be available for in-person meetings and other in-person gatherings as required and when safe to do so.\nResponsibilities\nServes as a key staff member in implementing the chapter’s One Walk program in Northern California (estimated 80% of time).\nSupports the strategic plan for the success of the One Walk program chapter wide. Collaborates with chapter staff as well as national/regional staff resources to ensure the Chapter’s revenue growth in the One Walk and as a pipeline driver for all other engagement.\nResponsible for building and implementing a strategy to develop a people pipeline of new volunteers, community leaders, donors, team captains and training, coaching, and managing the pipeline resulting in the attainment of revenue goals.\nPartners with community leaders and businesses to support Third Party / DIY fundraising through the JDRF Your Way program.\nDevelops and executes long-range and short-range strategies and plans to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward new donors.\nProactively seeks out and identifies new leads for corporate teams. Calls/meets with new prospects weekly. Develops and cultivates these leads to become part of the JDRF One Walk & Peer to Peer programs.\nMines data resulting in acquisition of key volunteers, participants, team captains, sponsors and community leaders. Collaborates on prospect research and develop engagement plans, activities, and correspondence to support interactions with prospects.\nResponsible for supporting volunteer committee development, team recruitment and retention strategies, budget, timeline, marketing/PR, logistics and best practice implementation.\nHelps guide event logistics for the Northern California One Walk, including kick-off and rally events, Walk Day, and Awards Celebrations.\nExecutes plan for maximizing team participation to achieve revenue goals by retaining and activating existing teams, attracting new ones from all sectors of the community and by providing fundraising guidance and support.\nIdentifies, builds, and stewards relationships with community, civic and corporate leaders as an integral part of volunteer and donor engagement.\nAssists with all chapter operations including administrative support and management of the CRM database including CRM updates, addressing duplication, and reports.\nManages Walk operations in both Walk management software, Luminate Online, and also CRM database. Pull reports and serve as the first contact to troubleshoot with teams.\nStrategically and consistently utilizes CRM data management tool to maximize efficient and effective moves management of donor pipeline.\nOversees assigned activities and helps establish strategic alliances.\nEnsures personal accountability for meeting deadlines and responding to volunteers and other department requests.\nSupports other programs as assigned.\nQualifications\nCollege degree or equivalent combination of education and experience\n4 years of work experience including 2+ years fundraising or relevant business/volunteer experience.\nStrong CRM database knowledge; Salesforce preferred.\nMust be a self-starter, with the ability to collaborate as a team player.\nPublic speaking experience preferred.\nStrong verbal and written communication. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.\nExcels in prospect research and thinking creatively to develop donor acquisition strategies.\nExperience in new business development and account management.\nAbility to create and manage process that enhances efficiency of staff work while allowing for donor centricity.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint)\nDetail oriented.\nFamiliarity with donor stewardship activities.\nAbility to travel within the chapter footprint when required.
