Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.\n\nRespond to the emergencies arising out of causalities like criminal violence, natural disasters, fires, air and land accidents and provide basic life support to the victims before they are transported to the hospital.\nDetermine the right course of action after evaluating the patient’s condition.\nProvide medical aid such as AED, CPR, prevent spinal damage, ventilation, control severe bleeding, prevent shock, bandaging wounds, etc., to stabilize their condition.\nEnsure equipment and ambulance interior is always clean and check and replace used and damaged supplies.\nPrepare a patient care report and take notes of the medical treatment given to them.\nRestock all supplies in the ambulance and replace used blankets, linens and other supplies.\nAttend refresher programs and continuing education as required by medical control, employers, certifying or licensing agencies.\nPerforms other duties and related work as instructed and assigned.\n\nMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:\n\nRequires High School graduation or GED equivalent.\n\nPhysical Demands:\n\nPerforms medium to heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing and raising objects and also involves exerting between 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis. Must be able to lift 125 pounds.\n\nUnavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):\n\nInvolves routine and frequent exposure to:\nBright/dim light; Dusts and pollen.\nExtreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.\nExtreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.\nVibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors.\nTraffic; Moving machinery.\nElectrical shock; Heights.\nRadiation; Disease/pathogens.\nToxic/caustic chemicals; Explosives; Violence.\nOther extreme hazards not listed above.\n\nSpecial Certifications and Licenses:\n\nState issued EMT Certification.\nNational Registry Certification\nMust possess and maintain a valid state Driver’s License.\n\nAmericans with Disabilities Act Compliance:\n\nOrangeburg County is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
