{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d2b2cb4a2058cd5f04a8ec29","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d2b2cb4a2058cd5f04a8ec29","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d2b2cb4a2058cd5f04a8ec29","title":"Pulp & Paper Project Engineer","description":"What You'll Be Doing\n\nJob Scope: Provide Project Engineering services to support the FEL3 and Implementation phases of the P5 Capacity with a focus on supporting the Project Manager and Construction Manager in managing the Engineering Firm, Project Staff, Mill Staff, Vendors and Contractors.\n\nPrimary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:\n\nAssist the Project Manager with miscellaneous project engineering work.\n\nManage the Mill and Project Team review of the Engineer and Vendor Drawings to insure timely and relevant comments are transmitted back to the Requester.\n\nAssist in the management the Mill and Project Staff to ensure timely completion of their assigned tasks. Manage the Master Action List\n\nAssist in the management of the Project Administrative and Document Control Staff to insure accurate filing and document distribution.\n\nAssist in the management of the Contractor by coaching them in the development of their Outage Preparation presentations.\n\nAssist in the management of the RFI and Construction Bulletin processes.\n\nUnderstanding the Project Scope identifying Project Scope Changes and ensuring that these are brought to the Project Manager in the proper format for approval prior to execution of the work.\n\nSpending time each day studying the construction drawings well in advance of the start of the work shown on the drawings. Consider them from the viewpoint of one who is to actually construct what is shown on the drawings. Obtain additional information and clarifications, as required;\n\nNote any unusual features on the drawings, which call for any special equipment, materials or skilled labor, etc., and draw these points to the Contractor’s attention.\n\nAssist the Contractor in interpretation of drawings;\n\nAdvise the Engineer of all errors and omissions found on the drawings so that they can be revised and the drawings re-issued;\n\nAssist with operational and maintenance training plans and implementation.\n\nEnsure adequate documentation is provided to Operations and Maintenance.\n\nParticipate in the investigation of performance reliability of new equipment before equipment is purchased.\n\nParticipate in factory acceptance testing and installation inspections.\n\nParticipate in status meetings and on-going communication with mill members\n\nMonitor contractor safety and follow up on any issues.\n\nAssist with maintaining normal operation during pre-construction and construction.\n\nFollow-up with field issues during construction phases.\n\nParticipate in checkout, start-up and commissioning activities.\n\nExpedite equipment and material deliveries affecting the project;\n\nExpedite all information and decisions which threaten to delay the work by advising the responsible parties, in writing, of the consequences if their information or decision is not forthcoming.\n\nDirect inspection of the work for workmanship and progress;\n\nMaintaining a daily dairy of all work done in his charge in the area and noting any special items which may later be helpful in evaluating Contractor’s claims\n\nIdeal Background\n\nEducation: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.\n\nRegistration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.\n\nExperience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.\n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\n\nKnowledge of the Hargrove project execution procedures.\n\nKnowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.\n\nKnowledge and application of company engineering standards and project controls tools.\n\nAbility to lead a team to deliver on commitments.\n\nA comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.\n\nDemonstrated proficiency in complex technical issues coordination and resolution.\n\nAbility to manage client relationships in complex situations.\n\nAbility to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.\n\nAbility to handle stress with poise.\n\nUnderstanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.\n\nAbility to delegate authority appropriately.\n\nAbility to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members and to structure accountability.\n\nOrganizational skills, ability to set priorities.\n\nCoaching and mentoring skills and experience.\n\nExcellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.\n\nExcellent presentation skills.\n\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nAbility to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.\n\nHargrove Culture\n\nWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
