(GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.\n\nWe have an exciting opportunity for a Low Observable (LO) Material Applications Technician to join our team in Palmdale California.\n\nWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Observable (LO) Material Applications Technician to support all aspects of low observable structures, materials, and application processes for aircraft. This position plays a critical role in preparing and spraying specialized coatings that contribute to the stealth performance and overall structural integrity of the aircraft.\n\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:\nMust be able to work with a high degree of accuracy\nPrepare and apply material for aerodynamic smoothing and flushness\nAble to accurately cut materials to specific dimensions and bond to specified surfaces within exact tolerances.\nPerform surface preparation of composite and metallic structures using sanding, stripping, vacuum application, masking, porosity testing, and related tasks.\nMix and apply sealants, gap fillers, and other materials prior to painting, using heating devices as needed.\nRepairing damaged or degraded low-observable coatings, often involving detailed inspections, material mixing, and precise application.\nPrepare and spray paints and coatings to proper spraying consistency and specification.\nIdentifies surface imperfections and makes corrections using approved procedures. Applies aerodynamic fillers to seams or voids and build up surfaces to conform to aircraft configurations.\nPerform or coordinate component-level testing to verify compliance with required standards and performance criteria.\nMay assist in similar tasks supporting aircraft build, modification, or maintenance activities.\n\nWe recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.\nJob Qualifications\nTypically requires associate's degree or equivalent with seven or more years of experience.
