This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other government contracting requirements. The Assistant Controller oversees the monthly financial close process, maintains internal controls, supports government audits, manages treasury activities, and serves as a key financial partner to executive leadership.\n\nEssential Responsibilities\n\nAccounting Operations\nAssist the Controller in directing all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and project accounting.\nManage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.\nReview journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy and completeness.\nEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.\nMaintain and strengthen internal accounting controls and financial processes.\nGovernment Contract Accounting\nEnsure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and other government contracting regulations.\nOversee project setup, indirect cost allocations, contract funding, and revenue recognition.\nSupport the preparation of Incurred Cost Submissions, Forward Pricing Rate Proposals (FPRP), and indirect rate calculations.\nCoordinate and support DCAA, DCMA, and external financial audits.\nMonitor contract profitability and advise management on financial performance and compliance matters.\nTreasury Management\nOversee the Company's daily treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity forecasting, and banking relationships.\nPrepare and monitor short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.\nManage electronic funds transfers, wire transactions, positive pay, and other banking activities.\nCoordinate debt compliance, banking agreements, and corporate credit facilities.\nOptimize cash utilization while maintaining appropriate liquidity to support operational requirements.\nAssist with investment management and other treasury-related initiatives as directed by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.\nFinancial Reporting & Analysis\nPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.\nAnalyze operating results, financial trends, and key performance indicators.\nDevelop executive-level financial dashboards and presentations.\nSupport the annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning processes.\nLeadership & Process Improvement\nSupervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering professional development.\nRecommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and enhance financial reporting.\nPartner with Operations, Contracts, Human Resources, and Program Management to support business objectives.\nServe as acting Controller during the Controller's absence.\n\nQualifications Required:\n\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.\nMinimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience.\nMinimum of 5 years of accounting experience supporting a federal government contractor.\nMinimum of 3 years of supervisory or accounting management experience.\nCandidates must demonstrate experience with:\nDeltek Costpoint (Required)\nGovernment contract accounting\nTreasury management and cash flow forecasting\nFinancial statement preparation\nGeneral ledger accounting\nMonth-end and year-end close\nRevenue recognition\nProject accounting\nIndirect rate calculations\nDCAA audit support\nFAR and CAS compliance\nBanking and cash management\nExecutive financial reporting\nMicrosoft Excel (Advanced), including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, and financial modeling\nMicrosoft Office Suite\nThorough knowledge of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and government contract accounting requirements.\nStrong understanding of treasury operations, banking relationships, and cash management.\nAbility to prepare and present executive-level financial analyses and reports.\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.\n\nQualifications Desired:\n\nActive CPA license.\nExperience with Deltek Costpoint Cloud.\nExperience with Microsoft Sharepoint\nExperience with financial system implementations or accounting process improvements.\nExperience supporting annual financial statement audits and government compliance reviews.\n\nRequired Certifications: None\nU.S. Citizenship Required: Yes\nSecurity Clearance Required: None\nEmployment Type: Regular Full-time\nBackground Check Type: 7 Year Pre-Employment\nDrug Screen Required: None\nPosition Contingent Upon Contract Award: No\n\nREAL ID Requirement\n\nThis position may require the ability to access to U.S. federal facilities.
