Provides general Center information.\r\nVerifies membership and provides entry to fitness area.\r\nIssues one-day passes and performs cashiering duties for fitness area entrance.\r\nPerforms general clerical duties for the REC Center.\r\nAssists in the concession areas when necessary.\r\nAssists with daily reports and deposits.\r\nAssists REC Center Supervisor with scheduling facility rentals and events.\r\nTracks memberships, fitness classes and walking track patrons.\r\nOther Duties and Responsibilities\r\nServes as back up for the administrative office personnel when needed.\r\nAssists with various activities and events in the REC Center.\r\nPerforms all other related duties as assigned.\r\nEmployee Behavior and Conduct\r\nCity employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for the circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to, being communicative, informative, fair, honest and respectful.\r\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\r\nSkills in telephone etiquette, detailed record keeping, working with numbers.\r\nKnowledge of computer and related programs, general office procedures, keyboarding, fax machine, copy machine and other various office equipment.\r\nKnowledge of money handling, accounting and record keeping.\r\nAbility to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED training certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, or an equivalent nationally recognized course in First Aid/CPR/AED.\r\nRequired (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (cont.)\r\nAbility to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.\r\nAbility to learn all new software programs associated with REC Center.\r\nAbility to provide excellent customer service to the public and fellow employees.\r\nAbility to work flexible hours, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays.\r\nValid Driver's License preferred.\r\nMaterial and Equipment Directly Used\r\nUses a variety of office equipment such as computer and related software, copier, fax machine, telephone, typewriter, calculator and other related equipment. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.\r\nWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements\r\nWork is generally performed in an office setting with a controlled environment. Will be required to work outdoors at various events/programs on a seasonal basis, where conditions can vary from extreme heat and cold with dust, dirt, snow, ice and noise, while standing, bending, lifting and other physical activities. Seldom needs to lift more than 10 to 20 pounds. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Leave scheduling shall be requested of and approved by the appropriate supervisor.\r\nEducation\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required. One or more years of experience or any combination of formal education and work experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
