The Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining and administering gauge validation and supporting the calibration system. The Quality Technician is also responsible for performing system and process audits to ensure product quality and adherence to written procedures. The Quality Technician is also responsible for performing metallurgical analysis of samples as needed.\n\nEssential Functions:\nFirst responder for all quality issues. Assess situation and react accordingly.\nPerforms product testing using a variety of methods. Prepares metallurgical samples for analysis using grinding, polishing, mounting, and cutting techniques. Performs or supports various metallurgical testing techniques to standard method specifications.\nMaintains laboratory tools, equipment, and instrumentation to ensure safety and reliability.\nMaintain all gage calibrations to ensure all gages are accurate.\nIssue gauging for overall operation of plant production and line changeovers, supporting the calibration system.\nDocuments and reports test results accurately in compliance with.\nReviews material certifications and ensure chemistry meet standards.\nAdheres to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.\nAudits products and processes to ensure system compliance with USEV.\nrequirements/specifications.\nHelps provide input on causes or reasons for quality problems and recommends process changes if necessary.\nSupports Production in a manner that maximizes efficiency.\nPerforms other duties as assigned by the Quality Manage.\n\nEducation / Skills:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n3+ years quality and/or manufacturing assembly experience.\n\nPreferred Skills:\n2-year Degree or trade school diploma.\nStrong computer skills are required: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nSuperior problem-solving ability.\nStrong professional interpersonal and communication skills.\nCertified Quality Technician through ASQ.\n\nOther Requirements:\nMust be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.\nPosition requires extreme attention to detail and ability to multi-task.\nMust be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.\nMust maintain proper vision requirements\nMust be able to maintain alertness to their surroundings.\n\nWork Environment:\nNoise Level (Low/Medium).\nWorking around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors).\nProtective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, etc.).\n\nAbout US Engine Valve:\n\nUS Engine Valve supplies the global automotive industry with high engineered valves that help to increase fuel economy as well as improve a vehicle’s overall efficiency and performance.\nIn addition to serving global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), US Engine Valve is also a leading manufacturer of products available in the automotive aftermarket through a network of qualified distributors and retailers.\n\nVision\n\nThe Company’s vision is to be a world-class, full-service supplier of intake and exhaust valves in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and innovation.
