Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) ManagerWe are supporting a pioneering space robotics company developing next-generation lunar mobility and planetary systems designed to support humanity’s long-term presence beyond Earth.As part of continued growth, they are seeking a Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) Manager to lead quality, safety, reliability, and compliance activities across critical lunar exploration programs.The RoleYou will serve as a key technical authority across Quality, Safety, and Mission Assurance, ensuring complex aerospace systems are developed, tested, and delivered to the highest standards in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.This position will play a critical role supporting lunar vehicle programs designed for future NASA missions and human space exploration.Key ResponsibilitiesLead Safety & Mission Assurance activities across lunar vehicle and spaceflight programsManage and maintain Quality Management Systems and compliance processesDevelop and enforce quality, safety, and reliability policies aligned with aerospace and NASA standardsSupport audits, inspections, nonconformance tracking, corrective actions, and risk mitigation activitiesOversee compliance with AS9100, ISO9001, FAR/DFARS, OSHA, and related regulatory standardsSupport incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiativesCollaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, suppliers, and external partnersLead and mentor SMA personnel across multidisciplinary programsRequired BackgroundBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline9+ years of experience within aerospace, defense, NASA, or high-reliability industriesExperience implementing or maintaining AS9100, ISO9001, or similar quality systemsStrong background in audits, compliance, quality assurance, and risk managementAbility to balance rigorous safety standards within fast-paced development environmentsExcellent communication, organization, and leadership skillsUS Person status requiredPreferred ExperiencePrevious leadership experience managing SMA or quality teamsExperience supporting spaceflight or human-rated programsFamiliarity with CMMI Level 3+ environmentsOSHA certification or operational safety experienceWhy Apply?This is an opportunity to help ensure the safety, reliability, and success of next-generation lunar exploration systems supporting future human missions to the Moon and beyond.
