As a Warehouse Shipping Associate, you will help the distribution center meet its goals by wrapping and loading pallets into outbound trailers for delivery to our retail stores (training provided).Schedule an interview immediately:After applying, engage in a brief conversation via text (typically same day) to schedule an interviewWe’ll let you know if you’re not eligible to move forwardIn‑person interviews are conducted at the Killingly Distribution CenterPlay an active role in helping your distribution center and your customer win:An ability to be MHEO certified and safely operate necessary material handling equipmentBuild pallets of cases and totes for shipment to stores, and stack empty palletsOrganize, stack, and operate automated shrink-wrapping machine to wrap palletsLoad finished pallets manually; lifting, lowering, and carrying product a fast-paced environment into outbound trailers with material handling equipment (MHE), such as a pallet jackMove product around the warehouse using MHEVerify accuracy of completed pallets and resolve any discrepanciesAbility to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product within our safety cultureAbility to work in a hot environment of approximately 95 degrees F at upper levels during the summer, and be able to work with seasonal temperature variationsAssist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assignedEssential skills and experience:Able to work Monday-Friday 7:00 AM- 3:30 PMDemonstrated regular attendance and must have the ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business needMinimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment; or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experienceAbility to lift, lower, push, pull, or carry product up to a maximum of 100 pounds by hand, and work at average heights of up to 8-9 feet, but up to 30 feet at timesPerform moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity, regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, pull/push, twist, reach, climb ladders, and crouchAbility to walk and stand 100% of the timeAble to work with moderate noise levels and operate warehouse equipmentAbility to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product within our safety cultureBasic English language, reading, and writing skills; basic math and data entryDetail-oriented, ability to follow directions, and collaborate with other team membersPass a background check and drug screenStaples does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this positionPreferred skills and experience:High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experiencePrior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker helpfulThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
