EHS Supervisor

Reporting to the Mill General Manager, the EHS Supervisor directs, and coordinates the safety and environmental initiatives for the facility. Duties and responsibilities include all aspects of safety and health, including evaluating site processes and equipment to determine controls needed to keep workers safe. Also ensures compliance and reporting of all local, state and federal environmental regulations. The EH&S Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that workers understand safe work procedures and are competent to safely perform their assigned duties.
What you will do:
Provide ongoing support to team members and leadership team in the identification of workplace hazards, reporting and investigation of incidents, and the development of a comprehensive safety program.
Lead facility EH&S programs and continuous improvement in environmental and safety initiatives.
Support GM on claims management.
Assist facility leaders with safety investigation.
Ensure compliance with OSHA General Industry standards and Client's standards
Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local environmental regulations and policies and Client's standards.
Facilitate EH&S training for all members.
Measure progress toward meeting our EH&S targets, safety plan objectives and Leading Indicator targets.
Ensure that all incident reports are reported and recorded in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
EH&S timely reporting and recordkeeping.
Become proficient with the safety tracking system Intelex.
Provide triage and first aid in the event of injury to a Team Member or contractor.
Contributes to the health screening process, health education programs, OSHA recordkeeping, hearing conservation process, etc.
Spend on the floor time interacting with Leaders and Team Members, evaluating systems, and supporting “on the job” hazard identification.
Position requires honest and ethical business practices.
Knowledge and/or experience with Title V facilities and the EPA Clean Air Act, including stormwater, wastewater and waste management acumen.
Lead Safety and Environmental processes and systems by example.
Conduct monthly reviews with regional environmental resource.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and/or experience with Title V facilities and the EPA Clean Air Act, including stormwater, wastewater and waste management acumen.
Experience with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, etc.).
Solid understanding of facilitating a successful EH&S program.
Ability to present and train team members.
Must be proactive, enthusiastic, and demonstrate effective leadership skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams.
Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
