A good education is one that inspires curiosity, creativity, and community. Our software enables that through visual content creation and collaboration in millions of classrooms worldwide.\nFor a majority of the world, the mobile device is their first computer. For many it’s their only computer. We are looking for Mobile Engineers to improve our mobile apps so we can improve the lives of a billion people.\nResponsibilities\nBuilding new features for our iOS and/or Android apps. E.g. a voice recorder with audio effects.\nMaking apps faster and more reliable. E.g. making network calls more resistant to spotty internet connections.\nImproving how we work. E.g. improving our internationalization pipelines we use to translate our app into 40+ languages.\nQualifications\nAt some point in your life, someone has told you: “you write good code.”\nYou know how to copy-paste code from Stack Overflow.\nBonus: you have a good sense of humor.\nAbout Padlet\nVision: Every child in the world will grow up with Mickey Mouse and Padlet.\nProduct: We are making the default way of collecting and sharing thoughts on the Internet. People love the product.\nImpact: We have 40 million users, making Padlet one of the most used apps on the planet.\nMoney: We are venture backed AND fiscally responsible. We are built to last one hundred years.\nBadassery: We are only 60 odd people. That's over half a million active users per person.\nTech stack\nMobile apps: React Native (with Swift and Java where necessary.)\nBackend: Ruby (Rails), Typescript, Elixir (Phoenix), and Python.\nWeb: VueJS, Tailwind.\nStorage: Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Firestore, and Snowflake.\nJoys of programming at Padlet\nWe have very few meetings. We have to solve interesting scale problems.\nWe try to solve problems creatively instead of just throwing money at them. We are engineers! We thrive in constraints, not in the absence of them.\nWe ship often.\nWe value beautiful code.\nSorrows of programming at Padlet\nWe grew pretty fast last year and our processes are still catching up. E.g. we don't have 100% code coverage yet. Our deployment process isn't as painless as it could be. This sometimes leads to spending time on things that aren't the most fun. We’re working on it!\nOur project management process could be better. This sometimes leads to re-speccing in the middle of development, getting in the way of programming flow. We’re working on it!\nSome people you‘d be working with\nLinh Nguyen: At any given point, no one really knows where Linh is. Kind of like an electron. We learn of his existence through pull requests and code reviews. Manager of people, code, and scope creep.\nColin Teahan: Lives for one-liners. E.g: Colleague: “Wouldn’t it be funny if Iron Man were anemic?” Teahan: “It would be IRONIC.” Single-handedly wrote early versions of our iOS and Android apps.\nThe office\nOur office is in the middle of Presidio, a beautiful national park. We’re a 5 minute walk from the beach. The WiFi works outdoors. You can work sitting in a lawn overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge.\nThe office itself is designed to be a space for all your interests and hobbies. We have a meditation room, game room, library, art studio, kids room, and full makerspace with 3d printers, presses, laser cutters, sewing machines, and more.\nBenefits\nTop tier medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family, including One Medical memberships.\n401(k) with matching.\nCommuter benefits.\nFSA.\nStock options.\nCatered lunches and dinners. Plus sickness and bereavement days for when life happens.\nParental leave\nAll the gadgetry you need, including a new phone every year.\nSpecial time to join\nBecause we're small, there's a lot of energy. And because we have tremendous traction, your first commit touches millions. This combination is rare and quite satisfying.","company":"Padlet","rawCompany":"padlet","city":"Millbrae","state":"CA","isRemote":false,"isActive":true,"createdAt":"2026-04-24T12:57:34.805Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1252.00","title":"Software Developers","slug":"software-developers"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"},{"code":"15-1254.00","title":"Web Developers","slug":"web-developers"}],"industries":[{"code":"513210","title":"Software Publishers","slug":"software-publishers"},{"code":"541511","title":"Custom Computer Programming Services","slug":"custom-computer-programming-services"},{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"Software Engineer – Mobile","description":"Padlet is building software for a good education.
