The company’s paper-based, sustainable solutions help customers protect what is most important to them.\nThe Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machines used to process paper products. This includes sheeting, slitting, and other converting machines. The role requires attention to quality, safety, and efficiency while working independently or as part of a team. Operators will also assist with light maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth production operations.\nSalary Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour\nResponsibilities:\nSet up and operate various paper converting machines (e.g., sheeter, slitter, crepe streamer machines).\nLoad and unload paper rolls using forklifts, clamp trucks, and overhead hoists.\nThread materials through machines and adjust settings such as knives, tension, and alignment as needed.\nMonitor machine operations and make adjustments for optimal performance and product quality.\nMaintain proper levels of supplies such as glue and packaging materials.\nPerform hourly quality checks, including measuring roll length, weight, and diameter.\nComplete and verify production paperwork accurately (e.g., production counts, QC forms).\nCollaborate with team members to rotate duties and provide assistance during breaks or high-volume periods.\nIdentify and report product defects, mechanical issues, or unsafe conditions.\nEnsure work area and machinery are kept clean and meet food-safe and safety standards.\nAssist with training, cross-training, and supporting departmental improvements.\nFollow all company policies, safety protocols, and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).\nOther duties as assigned by management.\nQualifications\nAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.\nBasic math, measurement, and documentation skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nProblem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.\nEducation:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.\nExperience:\nPrior machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.\nForklift and hoist experience a plus (certification provided upon employment).\nWork Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the United States.\nEEO Statement: Seaman Paper is an equal opportunity employer.\nOther Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
