Baker PositionNote: This is a floating position required to travel to multiple store locations. Candidates must be available to work at the following sites:CottlevilleMid RiversDardenne CrossingO'FallonLake St. LouisTown SquareHours: Shift times will vary depending on the specific store location, ranging between 10:00 PM and 12:00 PM (Noon). Shifts will not exceed 8 hours.This is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. You could expect the position of a baker to include the following:Provide friendly and courteous service to customersRegular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.Assist customers with product selections, including suggestive sellingProcess incoming products from bakery plant and direct store delivery vendorsPrepare breads, rolls, doughnuts, and other pastries, including icings and frostings, according to established recipesCut and weigh dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, mold dough into loaves or other shapes, and places in pansProofs dough and bakes in oven using peelInspect product for quality during and after baking and make adjustments to process as requiredReview production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activitiesPackage fresh-baked productsSlice and wrap fresh baked breadStock product displays in cases and on shelvesRotate product and straighten displaysPrepare out-dated product for the thrift storesBake cookiesRecord inventory of supplies and order stock from main storeroomComplete production sheets and other records as requiredConstantly clean work area and equipment following company safety and sanitation proceduresOther duties will be assigned at the discretion of the store managementTraining will be provided at store level.Physical Demands:BendingStoopingMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsWorking on feet for entire shift (4-8 hours)Additional Requirements Internal Candidates:Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.Schnucks is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
