Position OverviewResponsible for safeguarding company employees, assets, property and customer’s freight while in the possession of FedEx Freight. Reduce losses attributed to theft by proactive preventive measures. Report and investigate losses attributed to theft.Essential FunctionsIdentify criminal acts committed against the company and investigate and identify responsible partiesRecover property and monetary losses through the judicial systemWork closely and diligently with local, state and federal authorities to resolve cases and identify local and national patterns and trends of cargo theftReduce losses through Security guidelines and proceduresEducate management in crime prevention and reportingDevelop practical security applications designed to reduce exposure and risk to employees, cargo and physical assetsSelect and manage uniformed guard forces when necessaryCompile and maintain record of crimes committed against the companyAnalyze the criminal statistics in an effort to develop preventive measures and reduce crimeAct as a mentor and assist in development of the lower-level Specialist positionsComply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/proceduresPerform other duties as requiredDisclaimer: This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, essential functions and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience plus five (5) years of law enforcement and/or corporate security experienceBackground in alarm and Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) technologies, preferredAbility to direct investigationsExperience in courtroom testimony pertaining to presentation of evidence and criminal law violationsAbility to adequately document and manage case file preparation and presentationAbility to conduct covert surveillance undetectedAbility to attend and successfully complete advanced training in Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and other specialized trainingAbility to track expenditures for budget reviewExcellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skillsExperience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and OutlookExcellent communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as a team memberWorking ConditionsMust be able to travelEST FedEx Freight, IncFedEx Freight is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.
