Description
As a Service Field Technician, you’ll work in the field diagnosing and repairing commercial AV systems, applying your hands-on experience with AV, low-voltage, or electronics service work to ensure systems operate at peak performance.
What You’ll Do
Respond to service tickets and client requests to diagnose, repair, or reprogram AV systems
Travel to 2–3 client sites per day to provide hands-on support
Troubleshoot systems using diagnostic tools, signal tracing, and control system interfaces
Collaborate with the Customer Care Dispatch team to prioritize and complete work orders
Complete accurate documentation for service tickets, client communication, and parts used
Qualifications
Prior experience installing or servicing commercial AV, low-voltage, or electronic control systems
Familiarity with signal flow, diagnostic tools, and basic AV wiring practices
Experience with service tickets and job tracking tools (e.g., CRM or field service platforms)
Strong communication skills to explain issues and resolutions to clients
Ability to climb ladders, carry equipment, and travel between job sites with flexibility
Preferred
Programming experience with Crestron, AMX, or Extron systems
Certifications such as CTS-I or CTS-D
Experience with Biamp, Polycom, Cisco, or similar AV hardware
Associate degree in electronics, audio engineering, or a technical field

Physical Requirements This position encompasses a combination of office and field responsibilities, necessitating both physical and mental capabilities to effectively fulfill the job requirements. The employee should be prepared for a dynamic work environment that may involve extended periods of sitting while operating office equipment, as well as occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Field duties may require climbing ladders, working in various weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, or environmental elements. The employee should possess adequate manual dexterity, eyesight, and proficiency in using standard office tools such as computers, printers, and telephones for tasks involving reading, writing, interpreting, and managing paperwork. Effective communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing work settings are essential. This role may also involve occasional travel, including overnight stays, requiring flexibility in working hours and commitments. Safety protocols must be followed at all times to ensure a secure work environment.
