Food Service Assistant (Part-Time On-Call Substitute) - 26/27 School Year

Students, parents and teachers will work together to ensure positive character development and build a strong foundation for higher education.POSITION TITLE: Food Service Assistant, PT (On-Call Substitute)REPORTS TO: Food Service and Recess CoordinatorPosition Objective: To serve school meals that align with State and Federal Nutrition and health-code guidelines, as it aligns with the mission, vision, pillars of DaVinci Academy. Also assist other Food Service, Lunch Monitors, dishwashing, and Point of Sales.Principal ResponsibilitiesKeep information pertaining to students and school business confidentialInteract with staff and students in a courteous, professional and respectful mannerResponsible for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedure associated with Food Service DepartmentAssemble and serve lunch mealsEnsure that all food and milk is held at appropriate temperaturesComplete all required temperature control logs and required food production recordsWash dishes throughout serving periods; sweep and mop floorsParticipate in required training; 6 hours per school year, per state requirementsFollowing the DaVinci Academy PBIS program, utilize positive strategies to ensure students are orderly and behaving appropriatelyPerform other job duties as assigned. Dress CodeCasual attire can be worn, but must be clean and appropriate; no tank tops, or short shorts/skirtsWear comfortable, non-slip closed toed shoes Hair must be pulled back and off shoulders at all times. QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAbility to learn new computer programs quicklyAbility to work independently with little supervision Communicate effectively with adults and studentsWilling and able to stay current with all local, state and federal food service and health code regulations and guidelinesBe prompt, organized, and have the ability to multitaskPhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work at a fast pace, talk or hear, stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in the lunchroom with moderate noise level.
