Must pass NYC Department of Education background check\nThe Program Manager is responsible for managing programs during school and after-school hours for children by working closely with schools to provide an enriching and educationally sound experience. The program structure is developed based on the needs and interests of the students and their parents and is educational and arts-focused. Additionally, the Youth Program Director will\nDevelops, manages, and provides oversight to a comprehensive program and its related youth activities including special events and arts in education classes (music, art, drama, dance, etc.).\nResponsible for student recruitment and supervision of This may include calling, emailing, and posting\nannouncements, holding information sessions, encouraging youth,\nanswering applicant questions and other strategies to motivate youth\nto enroll and continue participation on a consistent basis\nAdhere to policies as stated in the I WILL GRADUATE Youth Development Handbook and in subsequent, I WILL GRADUATE Youth Development training and meetings\nResponsibly supervise all instructors and ensure all are adhering to the appropriate program policies and procedures; create a team environment and encourage open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents or co-workers.\nMaintain accurate documentation of attendance, absences and emergency information for the program.\nCultivates and forges positive relations with Principal, Assistant Principals, school district administrators, teachers, parents and\nparent coordinators and other key constituents in the community while\nactively seeking to raise their awareness of our I WILL GRADUATE Program and engage their support in ensuring programmatic quality for the youth we serve\nMaintains accurate records\nRequired skills:\nPassion for I WILL GRADUATE Youth Development Program mission and youth development\nReliable, organized and punctual\nKnowledge of effective performing arts, and academic programming\nExpert understanding of the education requirements in an urban setting for the school-age he/she will be managing (elementary, JHS, or HS)\nA strong leader and team-builder\nAbility to resolve conflicts and negotiate solutions\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program staff and school partners\nExcellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals both in person and over the phone, applying tact and discretion as situations demand\nMust have excellent organizational, time management and follow-up skills\nResponsible and professional conduct that serves as a role model to staff and youth\nExhibits strong character traits and exercises patience and creativity while seeking win-win scenarios\nAbility to set priorities and meet deadlines\nMust demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously\nProficiency in Microsoft Office which includes Excel, Outlook and Word\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree Required.\nBachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or related field preferred.\nExperience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development with a minimum of 2 years in a group supervisory capacity.
