In this role, you will perform structural analysis and design of substation steel and concrete elements (transformer and equipment foundations, control building foundations, oil containment, cable trenches, support structures, steel framing, and switch rack design), prepare calculations and sealed design deliverables, develop construction drawings and specifications, and review shop drawings. You will apply relevant codes and standards (ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, NESC/IEEE as applicable), use industry software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, RISA/SAP2000, AutoCAD/MicroStation/Revit), and coordinate closely with internal project managers, electrical engineers, contractors, and utility clients to support timely, constructible designs.\nThe ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering (M.S. a plus), has 1–5 years of relevant experience (utility/substation experience strongly preferred but not required), and is an EIT or working toward PE licensure. Strong technical writing, organization, and communication skills are required, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work both independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
