The Machine Tool Operations team powers precision and productivity – expertly running and maintaining manual and automatic jewelry equipment, driving smart efficiency upgrades, ensuring workflow accountability, and keeping everything running at peak performance.The Polishing Metal Smith supports jewelry manufacturing by operating and maintaining specialized finishing and machining equipment used in the production of precious metal products. This role focuses on precision, quality workmanship, and accountability while contributing to efficient production flow across finishing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain manual and automatic jewelry equipment associated with finishing and mass media finishing of precious metals, including Posalux machines and autolathes.Support the production of wedding bands by following established procedures to ensure consistent quality and productivity.Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment operating at peak performance.Monitor and maintain accountability for work-in-progress (WIP) jobs.Cross-train in additional production areas as needed to support seasonal demand and shifting business needs.Follow all occupational safety rules, training requirements, and recordkeeping practices in accordance with OSHA, the Louisiana Department of Labor, and company standards.Work in a safety-conscious manner at all times and contribute to a safety-first manufacturing environment.Provide input and recommendations for improving efficiency, workflow, and production effectiveness.Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.Develop foundational skills in manual machining processes, with additional cross-training required for progression to the next role level.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machineryAbility to learn and accurately use measuring toolsBasic math skillsStrong attention to detail and quality expectationsAbility to multitask in a production-focused environment Understanding of workplace safety practices and proceduresPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in manufacturing, metal finishing, or machining environmentsExperience operating Posalux machines or similar precision equipmentFamiliarity with inventory tracking or WIP accountability systemsSummaryStuller is the jewelry industry's largest manufacturer, supplier, and technology developer in North America.
