We’re a locally owned excavation company specializing in residential and commercial site work, grading, and site preparation.\nAs a Crew Lead, you’ll safely and efficiently operate machinery such as excavators, dozers, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders to complete excavation projects throughout the Four Corners area. You will also oversee job sites, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards.\nResponsibilities\nOperate heavy equipment for excavation, grading, and site preparation\nOversee and coordinate job sites\nConduct pre- and post-operation inspections and basic maintenance\nRead and follow grade stakes, blueprints, and site plans\nLoad/unload materials and move dirt and gravel as needed\nWork collaboratively with crew members and supervisors\nFollow all company and OSHA safety standards\nKeep a clean and organized work area\nQualifications\nProficient in plan reading\nProfficient in grade\n2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavator, dozer, blade, etc.)\nValid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)\nLeadership experience or ability to supervise a crew\nFamiliarity with excavation processes\nAbility to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions\nDependable, hardworking, and safety-focused\nBenefits\nPaid time off (PTO)\n401(k)\nSteady, full-time hours with overtime opportunities\nWork outdoors in beautiful Southwest Colorado\nOpportunities to operate a variety of equipment and gain new certifications\nSupportive, family-oriented team environment\nLocal projects — be home every night\nAbout Planet Excavation\nPlanet Excavation is a locally owned and operated company serving the Durango, CO area.
