Real Estate Property Accountant

Responsibilities: Manage full-cycle accounting for commercial real estate properties in accordance with federal income tax method of accounting. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and produce monthly financial statements with supplementary reporting as required. Prepare monthly accruals as needed. Review and approve accounts payable invoices coding and assist with processing, as needed. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, including accounting for outstanding items. Utilize budgets and other tools to analyze variances with property manager and reconcile payments applied against major contract values. Review lease abstracts prepared by property managers to ensure terms are correct and load into Yardi. Monitor cash positions and anticipate future capital calls required. Monitor and review monthly receivables for accuracy, adjustments, and/or corrections. Calculate and analyze year end operating cost adjustments (i.e., op ex or CAM) and tenant billings for assigned properties. Provide various treasury management functions (e.g., cash transfers, wire approvals, etc.) on a timely basis. Working with Tax Manager, ensure all taxes and assessments are reconciled and remitted. Work with property and asset managers to prepare ad hoc financial forecasts and annual budgets Qualifications & Experience 3-5 years of commercial real estate accounting experience. Experience working in Yardi Voyager 7 or 8. Well-organized and pro-active, self-motivated team player, able to juggle multiple priorities. Accounting or finance degree required, CPA a plus. Knowledge of real estate partnership tax accounting a plus.Location: This position is an “in-office” position, but does offer flexibility in choice of two Dallas locations (Uptown or Preston/Frankford area).
