Legal Assistant

The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our San Francisco, CA office. Legal Assistants perform a broad range of duties within the Legal department's purview, including review of client and corporate vendor agreements, ad hoc legal research, drafting policies, and providing other administrative support (e.g. myriad corporate filings).In particular, this position involves close cooperation with other members of the Legal Department and significant interaction with the Firm's consulting and corporate services staff as well as external law firm personnel and client procurement departments. As the firm grows, this position offers increasing responsibility and challenging work to the right candidate.Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:Assist with the drafting, review, and negotiation of a wide spectrum of consulting client and corporate vendor contracts (e.g. engagement letters, master services and subcontractor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, vendor and other corporate contracts), including liaising with external clients and procurement personnel as neededMaintain and update document templates and resource materialsAssist with preparing contract- and corporate-related portions of proposals and responses to Request for Proposals to prospective clientsCollaborate with the Firm's billing personnel to open and track new client projects including tracking new project informationAssist with general corporate matters by maintaining corporate filings, subsidiary and shareholder records, and supporting annual corporate insurance renewalsTHE CANDIDATEBachelor's degree required1-3 years' experience in a business environment, preferably in a legal or professional services firm (Internships included)Experience in MS Office Suite and Microsoft WindowsExcellent research skills as well as strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail, organizational skills and must have the ability to triage multiple issues and tasksExcellent analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communication, and problem-solving skillsImpeccable moral and ethical standards, and an ability to exercise appropriate judgment and comply with confidentiality obligationsAbility to build positive relationships with senior level consultants and across all corporate services groups, including Accounting, Business Support Services, Human Resources, IT, Marketing, and Planning and Business AnalysisHigh degree of ownership and commitmentAbility to develop working knowledge about the Firm's client engagementsPositive client service attitudeCandidate will be responsible for supporting all Brattle offices and may need to be flexible with their schedule in order to accommodate domestic and international offices in alternate time zonesBrattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $66,000 - $71,000 annually.
